Description:

1957 Pontiac Super Chief

1957 Pontiac Super Chief – 2 Door Hardtop. 1 of 15,494 made that year. Sought after version. Originally black with white side stripe and black interior. How many have you seen lately? It's the shorter version of the American made Pontiacs that year. It has three stars on the side as compared to the longer Star Chiefs with four stars. The Super Chief has additional chrome accents vs the base model Chieftain.

This is a modified project car. A little about the car:

· Boxed frame for added strength

·Fat Man Fabrications Stage 2 Mustang Independent Front Suspension with 2” drop spindles and power rack and pinion. Shocks are installed but I did not install the new coil springs yet.

·Chrome Tubular A-Arms with disc brakes

·Chris Alston 4 link rear suspension with a new 9” Ford POSI unit with 3.42 gears

·Engine mounts set up for a small block Chevy and Muncie 4 speed (No Motor/Trans Included)

·New Body Mounts

·Body is very solid, Bit of work needed at rear portion of passenger rocker panel, Few light dings in the front fenders but they are very solid.

·Power Disc Brake and Hydraulic clutch pedal assembly are setting in car

·New Steering column with custom steering wheel

·Chrome is all there, some has pits but I’ve polished spots and it does shine to driver quality. Could be re-chromed if want perfect.

·Front bumper is worst part of car though grille and dagmars are straight and will shine.

·Interior is all there, Quite dirty but could be used with a cleaning.

·All glass included except windshield. It's clear glass not the green tinted style.

·Clean Pennsylvania Title

Again, this is a project car. It needs brake lines and gas line plumbed, will need a wiring harness, obviously body work and paint. It will need an engine and transmission, driveshaft, new radiator as old one was shot and exhaust and other drivetrain related items. I have a gas tank which has been patched. That seems to be a hard to find part. The interior, heating system and and all gauges, etc need to be installed. Once finished, you'll have a really unique ride from the 50's. There's always a bunch of tri-five Chevy's at cruise night, but rarely will you see a 57 Pontiac.

Car was disassembled by the previous owner. Looks like it was last on the road in1981. I’ve had it several years and am not working on it enough to move it along and I'd like the garage space back. I'd like to let her go to a good home where someone can finish and enjoy. Right now I've put the seats and steering column back in car. Other parts are all on the shelf as seen in pics. Any questions, please ask.
The final picture is obviously not this car, but shows what it could look like when done. That matches the original paint scheme of this car.
