This 1988 Pontiac Mera GT is one fine example of only 247 Mera cars ever produced.This is NOT A KIT CAR . It is arguably the rarest car in America. It is currently registered in the Pontiac Mera Registry .It is car # 8011. This Classic was built by Corporate Concepts and sold by the Pontiac dealership before being sued by Ferrari as it resembled the Ferrari 308. Ferrari won the case halting the production of the Mera forever. This is a controversial story in American Automobile History. The Mera was built out of the Pontiac Fiero formula platform in 1987. To my knowledge, In 198, only 6 were ever built out of the GT platform. This one is believed to be one of them. It has the coil over shocks that were new for 1988 and has the GT suspension. Only approximately 100 Mera cars received the 5 spoke Cromodora wheels which mine has. Cromodora made wheels in Italy exclusively for the Ferrari ! This Mera comes with leather interior, tilt wheel, cruise control, power window, air conditioning and a premium stereo sound all which are in good working order. This is a solid rust free car with the 5 speed Getrag gearbox. The 2.8 engine was replaced with a 3.4 push-rod v6 built by west coast Fiero before I purchased the car a few years ago. I am the third owner. This is a great running car that i believe is probably worth more than my asking price. I believe this car is one of the best examples out there. Interior is all original with a small tear on the driver side seat. Paint is nice but not perfect (could use a color sand and buff but looks great as is) This car is one of the few Meras in existence that has all of its original badges. Most Meras were cloned with Ferrari emblems back in the day as it looks exactly like a Ferrari. More pictures or videos are available upon request. Buyer, please look at my seller feedback of 100%.
