Description:

1965 Pontiac GTO

This PHS Documented 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe is an original Iris Mist car with parchment & black interior. The power plant is a 389 cu. Inch V8 engine with automatic transmission and air-conditioning with power steering and power brakes. Options added where rally wheels and a new tri-power manifold with 3-duces.

This is a nice project car has been prepared and ready for the body shop. The dash has been disassembled along with the air-conditioning components and heater core. I have new carpet and door threshold trim and a new headliner. The front bucket seats and rear bench seats are original and have not been refurbished. I have misplaced the door panels, but have the hardware and armrests. I believe I have all the glass except the front windshield. I have lots of new rubber trim still packaged. I have the front headlights and bezels, wiper motor and assemblies, radio, steering wheel components etc. I have the rear tail assemblies and bumper. I may be missing one of the lenses. The front bumper is missing. The exhaust (not the headers) was removed to work on the body and am still looking for those at another shop. I have a new set of emblems/badges for the car.

The tri-power manifold and carburetors are new and match the correct date and month of the original build. I had them made with original 1965 parts. That alone was close to $2500 and has not been used. The tri-power manifold is not bolted up yet and is sitting on the top of the engine. Also, included is the air flow piece and foam gasket to mate up to the hood. The hood will need the vents cut out to allow the air to flow freely through the hood intake vents should you choose to feed the tri-power that way. The hood that I have is a different color because I had to acquire a new hood because the person that I bought the car from said the hood blew off on the highway while transporting. The 389 V8 ran strong before removing the manifold and 4bbl carburetor. I do not know the exact mileage on the engine but it looks and sounded rebuilt but I do not know.

The car is clean and solid throughout with minor surface rust from sitting. The car is kept in a garage. If the tri-power was bolted up and the throttle connected the car would drive. I have since removed the battery and tray and the fender wells. I had intended on restoring but have too many projects and just can’t get to that one. I do not have a battery for this car anymore. I also, may have the iris mist paint still. I spent about a $1,000 on it. If you plan to paint this car its original color I will sell it to you at a discount if your interested and I can locate it.

The sale is final and sold as-is with no warranty. Deposit can be made through PayPal and is non-refundable and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Car is listed locally as well. Payment by cash in person, wire funds or certified bank check.
