1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible with 4-Speed

1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible with a 4-Speed selling at "No Reserve" on a quick 5-day auction
This was the year that started the incredible line of Firebirds. They simply don't make extraordinary looking body styles like these anymore. This model started the Wide-Track of Pontiac Excitement as far as I'm concerned. This is one handsome muscle car. Especially in Burgundy! Why not instantly become the pride of your neighborhood? Thissweet 1967 PontiacFirebird Convertible was just purchased a couple months ago from a gentleman about an hour west of Milwaukee who is a first-generation Firebird lover. If you simply double click on the main picture of the auction page then all 24 pictures will be able to be viewed in the larger size by clicking the arrows on each side of the larger pictures. I will explain everything I found out at the point of purchase.
My younger brother picked up this Firebird from over 2 hours away and drove it to my house. The prior owner had the transmission recently rebuilt. I must say when I took it out for a spin it does shift nicely in all 4 gears. The clutch feels great. This Firebird Droptop starts right up and runs great. The previous owner installed some new brake lines and some new brake shoes, so the brakes stop well. I will send all the receipts I have from that prior owner along with the PHS documentation. This super rare Pontiac was purchased brand new on 4/24/67 from Deising Motor Company located at 2812 N. Third street Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53212. What a glorious day that must have been.
This paintwork looks older, but it does look very presentable. A magnet was run over the entire body and there were no weak spots that I could find anywhere. I would say this car was painted somewhere in the early 2000's, and it was well stored over the years, so that's why I believe it stayed in such good shape. The prior owner placed those HO stripes on the sides. He had always kept it in his heated garage. The floors and frame look in good condition from everywhere I inspected. These one-year only doors with the vent windows still open and close like new. The original door edge guards are still present, and these doors still open and close like they did 55 years ago.All the chrome on this body looks nice.
I was told that the mileage is correct at just over 36,996 original miles and that this is the original engine. The clean and clear title says actual mileage, although it also says exempt from odometer disclosure. I don't know all that much about Pontiacs, so I can't verify this is as the original engine. But I would say from knowing classic cars as I do this convertible is very original. In fact, they don't come much more original that this one. This 326 engine was nicely detailed withPontiac blue. The suspension seems to be in good shape as this Firebird sits up just right. This Black Firebird Convertible power top is in good condition, so I believe it must have been replaced at some point. This Bird has the power top option. That was fairly rare for first year Firebirds. This power top does go down rather nicely through the original top switch. The hydraulic top lines do need some more fluid, because I had to have a friend to help get it back up when I came back from shooting pictures. The Original Red California Convertible top boot cover comes included in the trunk. The boot goes over the top after the top is lowered into the well. These classic and antiques are actually cars that anyone who is vaguely mechanically inclined can easily work on them with friends. There are no computers where an owner is forced to bring their car in to be serviced. This Bird comes with a lot of original documentation. Which includes the original 1967 Pontiac Owner's manual that has the metal Protect-O-Plate attached to the inside of the back page of the manual. That is a cool rare manual to have survived all these years. The convertible top manual will also be included in the glove box. The entire interior appears in relatively nice condition as apparent from the pictures. The red carpet looks like it is close to new. There is a brand-new set of four clear plasticfloor mats. This is an original bucket seat and 4-Speed car with the original console. There is an Alpine AM/FM Cassette Player Stereo along with an Alpine Graphic Equalizer that includes 4 Alpine speakers.
This Firebird rides ona set of four P215/70R14 inch Firestone Firehawk raised white lettered steel belted radial tires with good tread mounted ona set offour Pontiac Rally wheels, with a set of four black PMD center caps, four beauty trim rings, and chrome lug nuts. This car was originally a spoked hubcap car. The previous owner recently bought a brand-new set of four P215/70R14 inch B.F.Goodrich Silvertown skinny white wall steel belted radial tires that he purchased from Coker tires for nearly $1000. I showed a picture of that stack of tires with the original rare spoked hubcaps. If the winning bidder would like to have those set of four tires to use for a spare set they will be included and sent with the car after the sale.
The trunk floor had some minor patchwork but was coated with AC Delco black and aqua spatter spray to make it appear factory correct. An original jack, jack stand, and crowbar were nicely detailed and sit on a factory trunk mat. The trunk also carries a full-size spare tire.
I'm selling this Rare Bird droptopwith an open, clean, and clear titleissued from the State of Wisconsin. As soon as the funds are clear the title will be sent out by U.S. Priority mail the same day or kept with the car for transport whichever the winning bidder prefers.

The Nada Classic Car Price Guide that anyone can look up on-line has a 1967 PontiacFirebird Convertiblewith a 326/250 horsepower engine, Rally Wheels, and a 4-Speed valued at$124,875in high condition, which theyconsider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100-point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices.
They have the average condition valued at$69,660which theyconsider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a20-Footer!
They have the lowest condition valued at$37,260being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration.
The numbers don't lie! These Firebird Droptops are very valuable classic muscle cars. Why pay the crazy prices that these cars are bringing nowadays when you can find your dream car right here selling at "No Reserve" on a 7-day auction? Don't you deserve to treat yourself to a work of art that these cars have become? According to the PHS documentation only 7,164 of these models with a 4-speed were manufactured in 1967. That was the hardtops and convertibles combined. How many convertibles with the super rare 4-speed can actually be left in existence? Especially in this close to original condition. I highly doubt that many are left. This could be your last chance to purchase a nice one.
Like the old saying goes when the top goes down the price goes up! With all the natural disasters that hit the United States and entire collections get wiped out these classics become more valuable and more desirable.
I'm selling this Bird as a daily driver's quality type car if the next owner desires. What you see is exactly what you get!
