Description:
1972 Pontiac GTO
I have owned over 25 classic cars and this one by far is the toughest one for me to sell! I've had 4 speed big block chevelle', olds 442', a few pontiacs, some mopars and they have all been fun but none of them could match the performance and reliablity and MPG of this car .Under the hood of this Ventura is a professionally installed and tuned 1997 350 Lt1 with a t56 6 speed manual trans . The 350 LT1 is light on the front end (small block aluminum intake and aluminum heads) makes car nimble and fun around the turns . The 4 speed cars where fun that i have owned but this 6 speed manual Ventura is Awesome in comparison . Fuel injection and 6 speed along with light weight make this a honest 27 mpg highway car !!!! How do you beat that at $4.50 a gallon????? you can still have fun and not go broke like the old big 4 barrel muscle cars 8-10mpg.
This is a 1972 Pontiac ventura similar to a 1969 70 71 or 72 nova . sweet classic styling without the big bulk of mid 1970's cars.
The Ventura came from Virginia and has a very very solid body and under body . Frame rails are super nice and rust or scale free front to back . Front fenders core suppor, hoo, door, rocker, floor, are super solid with original body seams . The rear quarters have had some replacement patch panel work on them . (any rust was cut out and new patch metal welded in ) . The car is very solid for its age and straight but needs to be body worked and repainted . The previous owner said he was not a body guy or paint guy but wanted to preserve the steel by giving the car a 20 footer paint job (now that economy paint job is flaking off ).
The car has a awesome driveline :- 1997 aluminum head Z28 camaro engine with matching T56 manual transmission and 8.5 rearend with 3.73 gears and new posi unit . The engine had 70k miles when pulled from z28 and runs like a to, trans shifts perfect and clutch is great . new aluminum radiato, new painless wiring harness and professional install of driveline . $12,000 invested in the driveline upgrade with the cost of the driveline . nice mild sounding flowmaster dual exhaust front to back
complete interior redon, black bucket seat, floor sound deadene, carpe, consol, door panel, dash and headliner .
new brakes and and shocks all the way around with new emergency brake cables . new pontiac ralley wheels and good bfg tires .
solid 1974 gto shaker hood with original shaker ontop . looks great .and """really shakes ""
I took it to the quarter mile once and without even trying or beating on it I was able to run a mid 13 second run at 112mph.
Quick story : On the highway you always have people testing yo, thinking that its a regular old pontiac 350 2 barrel car and a turbo 350 automatic car ------ I laugh when i put the pedal down in 5th gear and i laugh even harder when i go to 6th gear and modern cars that are testing you get lost in the rear view mirror .
NO ITS not the greates, not the fastes, not the most rar, but Bottom line is that its a awesome little super fun car for the money that i'm asking . you'll never find this much fun and performance for any cheaper .
My name is Greg and I am asking a super fair $13995 for my car . Id like to be paid by cas, certified chec, or even paypal if you pay the 3% useage fee . I will mail the title out to you right away and i will help load if your sending a transporter . Thanks and feel free to ask any questions . This HOT ROD is priced to sell !
I tried uploading a video of this baby running onto ebay but it wouldn't upload . I have a video of the car running if you'd like i can send it to you your phone or to your computerized messages system you provide me .
