Description:
1979 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird
Up for sale is my 1979 Trans Am. If you are a purist or very picky, please turn the page. The description and opinions of mine are clearly subjective. I may think something is nice and you may not agree with me. My rust analysis is not subjective, I stand by it. Low ballers and local tire kickers have accelerated my wanting to sell the car asap. Make me an offer...The car has the 403 Oldsmobile engine. It looks to be original. The car runs good and the transmission shifts flawlessly. The car is rock solid. No rust at all, anywhere on the body or underneath. I did sand the rockers that had surface rust and primered them. The wheel wells are solid. The paint to me is an 8 out of ten, has nicks and dings. I have added the decals and yes I know the hood one is wrong. The pictures are before the decals and after adding them. The dash is NOT cracked or even close to being. The interior is solid...no tears or rips. Carpet is still in nice shape. Lights, gauges, windows, all work. The oil pressure has the wrong sending unit, have not got around to it. The tach does not work but I have the circuit board for it. Its an AC car but needs the parts and hoses. I had the seat retractors rebuilt. New exhaust from the Dynomax super turbo muffler back. Drivers side valve cover has developed a small leak. I have many new parts that I will give to the new owner. They are as listed:1. newer shifter, new shifter plate and new bezel.2. new dash vents3. new hood decal and shaker decals.4. new map box5. new rear brake lines.6. new tach circuit7. new rear brake shoes. The car has new brake booster, master cylinder, discs, drums, pads, front brake lines. The car also has a new Edelbrock intake. The door panels are all in very nice condition and i have taken them off and reattached them securely. The T-tops leak but not bad. I took it through a car wash. All the glass is solid. It is not a show car. But it is a nice survivor. The car will need a steering gear box but you can still drive it. You are getting a turn key solid car. I bought it in January out of California. I am retiring soon and reducing my collection. I have described the car as best as I can. There are no guarantees, the car is 43 years old. You can take this car to meets, cruises without any reservations. These cars are going way up in value, especially the big block cars.Car has a clear Texas title. I will answer any questions as best as I can, 210-842-1447. The car is for sale locally, i will end this listing if it sells.
