1956 Pontiac Other

1956 Pontiac Other . Condition is Used. This Pontiac Junior Star Chief has been in the same family since new.
In 1956 Judge Donald Potter of Rochester, New York oought a new Cadillac at Valley Cadillac, then on East Ave. in downtown Rochester. Shortly after the purchase he was notified that he had won a new Pontiac convertible in a drawing held by the dealership. He was surprised at it's 6 foot length but it was ideal for his son who drove it with great enjoyment.Judge Potter passed away in 2015, leaving the Junior Pontiac to his car collector nephew in very good, unrestored condition.A quote from his obituary:"Don attended East High School, University of Rochester, Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and Harvard Law School. During WWII he was a JAG in the U.S. Army. In 1957, Don was sworn into the US Supreme Court where he practiced law for many years. During his local law career, some of his partners included, Antell, Potter & Harris Law Firm. Culley, Marks, Rieftech, Tanenbaum & Pezzulo Law Firm.Don was a founding father of the Cerebral Palsy Assoc. of Rochester, Al Sigl Center, and Waring Baptist Church. He also was an Ancient Mariner of the Rochester Yacht Club and member of the Rochester Community Players."The judge founded the Cerebral Palsy Assoc. based on his own experiences with his son who loved this little car. The car has a new set of semi-pneumatic wheels and tires from the original manufacturer because his son wore out the originals.
Today the car is just as pictured. Some cosmetic aging shows, but it wears it's years well. All the electrical and mechanical parts have been serviced. The motor runs smooth on a new deep cycle battery, lights and horn work fine, and the upholstery is in good condition.
The car is located in Rochester, New York and we will deliver it, free, within 150 miles. We could drive it but we are all too old and big to get in. We will assist in freight shipped preparation by building a safe box and assist in loading for greater distances.
This is a very special car with a great story, wonderful history, and the operational ability to thrill generations to come. If we keep it the only people to see it will be visitors to the shop. It needs a new, appreciative owner who will share it at events for all to see. Please contact me with any questions. Non-serious buyers are welcome to ask as well. Thank you, Bernie
