This car is from my personal collection of projects that I have not gotten to so it's time to let someone enjoy this very rare Pontiac. What you have found is a 1987 Sunbird GT Turbo convertible. These cars were never available off the assembly line as a convertible so GM commissioned ASC (American Sunroof Company) to convert these cars from coupes to convertibles, very few were done and just think of how many could possibly be left? At the time I am listing this, there is not another one I could find available. Aside from the new exhaust, tires and battery, the car is 100% original with NO aftermarket 'performance' parts or hacked in electronics. No hacked in stereo systems, aIarms or anything else, just how you want to find a classic car. I bought this car from the original owner back in 2014 who was a non-smoker and the car now has just 45232 original miles. Now, that being said, the car is not perfect. The car was originally owned in SD so it does have a few spots of minor surface corrosion, absolutely no rot and the entire unibody is solid, you can reference the photos of the undercarriage. The paint on the car is 'checked' and faded but it is super straight with no dings, dents or major scratching. The top needs to be replaced (the full power mechanism works perfectly), tires are old and dry and the interior shows years of aging. The door strip for the passenger door is included, it is in the trunk. The car runs and drives just as you would expect a 45k mile car should but it will need a cosmetic restoration to make it really nice. Gauges work, power windows are a little slow but all work, top works and the A/C does work and blow cold but there is a very fine leak in the system so it will only hold a charge for about a week or so, but does blow cold. Transmission shifts well and there are no warning lights on in the dash. Car comes with the original 'boot cover' for the retracted top, two sets of original keys, jack and spare that has never been on the ground. This car in nice shape would easily bring north of $10,000 at any collector auction and while this car needs some paint, a top and some interior attention, it still is a very rare and collectible car. The car is being offered with an opening bid of $99 and there is absolutelyno reserve price! The highest bidder at the conclusion of this quick 3 day auction will own this very cool convertible.
