This is a beautiful 1964 Pontiac GTO, many experts appoint this car as the FIRST ever muscle car! This stunning GTO has the original numbers matching 389 engine and 4 speed manual. This car is as close as you can get to the originally desired GTO, 389 tri-power 4 speed with 1964 Hurst shifter and restored console. Red exterior with new black interior the car turns heads everywhere it goes. This car has always been in California and comes with the original 1964 California black plates included. It runs and drives incredibly well and is very nice to drive. The car looks stunning inside and outside.
The car went through a 2.5 year restoration with no expenses spared. The engine was removed and fully rebuilt with all new parts including a mild cam, pistons, rings, bearings, unleaded seats, lifters, push rods, oil pump, water pump, gaskets, belts hoses, clutch etc. The engine was also balanced at the same time with the flywheel and harmonic balancer. Power steering and brakes were added at the time of restoration. The Transmission was also gone through with new syncros, bearings, and new U joints installed at that time. The suspension was also gone through, all painted the correct factory colors. Original H/D radiator restored using original tanks. Much more details in the documents with pictures.
The car was originally born a 4 barrel carter AFB. The tri-power was a restored matching 1964 GTO with carbs and manifold, installed by Pontiac dealer Birdnow Pontiac. Included with the car is the restored original 4 barrel Carter AFB carb manifold and chrome air cleaner as well as the original 4 spinner hub caps and 4 red line tires for stock appearance. The bumpers and rear taillight assemblies were rechromed and painted, on the interior there is new carpet, headliner, package tray, and rear seat covers. The car also comes with a box full of documentation. Great addition to any collection.
