Street rod all steel body
1938 Pontiac Sedan Humpback
There's just something about the handsome lines of a pre-war cars that make great custom machines. The unique styling of this 1938 Pontiac Sedan Humpback gives it distinction from the Fords and Chevys, and it has an attraction that we can't help but make all our own. So, when it has been nicely customized inside and out with everything from V8 power to a luxury A/C interior, this is the Pontiac streetrod to take home. The shiny... red paint on the curvaceous sedan's body looks terrific. It brings out the details, and there are plenty of modern elements in there to give it a glow out in the sunlight. It isn't perfect, but it shows very well, and a professional wax and buff would really restore some former glory to this streetrod. The classic body is first-rate, with a lot of extra care taken in getting the gaps right. So, when you combine the sleek clearcoat finish with a well-done sheetmetal, the result is something quite slick. That's why they didn't chop the body, left the door handles and hinges, and fender skirts, spotlights, and those awesome frenched '59 Cadillac taillights add a fantastic vintage touch. It cannot be a true American custom car without some great chrome, and so the factory elements like the bumpers and the horizontal grille have a wonderful shine. Smoke-tinted windows and bright modern wheels, and coupled with that unique humpback, the profile of this streetrod is really one-of-a-kind. The interior doesn't break any new ground, offering comfortable sensibility and spacious accommodations for five. The original bench seats are gone, replaced with modern power bucket seats up front now wrapped in tan vinyl, and a matching sculpted bench seat in the back that provides lots of room for passengers. Custom door panels feature tweed and vinyl and continue the theme featuring billet handles and custom speaker enclosures. The dash was restored too, then a full set of black-faced VDO gauges were installed inside a chrome bezel, including a clock in its own matching bezel in the center. Painting the dash tan was the right choice, keeping the interior easy on the eyes. It's full of luxury features, too, including A/C, a tilt steering column, power seats, as well as a Sony AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo integrated into the tweed headliner, so you can hit the road in comfort. The gray carpets are plush, the back seat is spacious, and there's plenty of room in the finished trunk for luggage and other gear. The original straight six is no longer in this Pontiac, and power has been kicked up thanks to a 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8. It's fitted with familiar upgrades like a 4-barrel carburetor on a polished intake manifold, an HEI ignition system, and some bright chrome dress-up. The firewall has been smoothed and service access is decent all things considered, so you know someone spent some time getting the little stuff dialed-in just so. A big radiator and electric fan keep it nice and cool at cruising speeds and with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, it's really effortless at almost any reasonable speed. Front suspension equipment includes a Mustang II setup with rack-and-pinion steering, while leaf springs and newer shocks handle the rear. A newer Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it a burbling hot rod exhaust note and the stance is wicked on Pacer five-spoke alloy wheels that carry 215/60/15 front and 235/70/15 blackwall radials. The day of the sedan has arrived. Given all the features, the build quality, the roomy interior, and turn-key reliability, this car would cost twice as much if it were a coupe. Twice the space for half the price? Sounds great to me! Call today!
