Lemans sport coupe, 4-spd
1969 Pontiac Lemans sport
If you are interested in bidding on the vehicle and have 15 or less feedback, you need to contact me first. If not, then your bid will be retracted.
Up for bidding is a very rare 69 lemans sport coupe, VIN# 237(27), the 27 indicates sport coupe. Only 5033 of this style were made and only 116 were equipped and ordered with the 4-speed trans and this is one of them. Please note: This is a 50 year old car and by no means is a museum piece but has a decent foundation to be.
The car is basically an un-touched original but probably had a re-paint years ago with the original color, Verdoro green. Other non-original items are a tach, gauges which all work and previous owner put olds cutlass rally wheels on the car and why I don't know when there are an abundance ofPontiac rally's available. I cannot find the build sheet for the car but again was ordered with the manual trans, console and bucket seats. vinyl roof, the base 350 2V engine and probably a single exhaust which is now duals, rear window defogger andpower steering. There is no A/C or any other power options and has manual brakes. Have original radio but not installed.
The interior is still very presentable and appears to be original material but is beginning to show it's age.Dash has a small crack. The body has minor rust/bubbling and very repairable. There is bubbling on both sides of the vinyl roof and below the rear window belt line, lower trunk lid area, rear bumper and minor bubbling along both driver/passenger frame below the doors. Trunk also has some bubbling but still very solid as are the floors, fenders, 1/4 panels andfirewall. Hood opens and closed just fine but could use a fine adjustment and has a small crease on the passenger side. Again, the body is solid and has many paint chips, some small dings and creases but paint still has a decent shine.
The car is in mechanically good shape and is a turn-key vehicle or daily driver. I drove the car home 70 miles at freeway speeds without any issues. No grinding or whiningnoises in the shifting which was strong with no popouts,no over-heating and handle fine with decent brakes. My Daughter followed and said there was no smoke emitting from the exhaustshe could see and the lights were operational. Just changed oil/filter, air-filter and fresh coolant. Drive as you restore or just leave as is. My reserve is reasonable and a fraction of the cost of a GTO with basically the same style and appeal.
I accept Paypal for a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 and must be received within 24 hours at the close of auction. Balance can be made with cash in person, a cashier's check and/or money order. The winning bidder is responsible for their own pick-up and shipping of vehicle. Thanks for your interest and good luck.
