1969 Pontiac GTO

This car is heading for its 50th birthday! It is a real deal GTO, has been well taken care of and is solid from top to bottom and end to end. It has recently been serviced up mechanically with attention paid to keeping things factory original and has been resprayed in a fresh coat of its original color. These cars were stunning in Matador Red when they were new, and this one looks better than ever all freshened up. From the side, the long tapered front fenders highlighted by a black and white stripe down the side of the car look awesome. Toward the rear, the roofline tapers down smoothly into the trunk with a rear wing perched on the back edge. GTO appears on the front fender along with The Judge in script proudly announcing that it is equipped with that option package, and the back fender has a discreet little GTO emblem too. Up front the trademark Pontiac split grill is trimmed in chrome with quad headlights and sports another GTO badge. It flows smoothly back and up the hood to twin Ram Air scoops and a hood mounted tach so the driver can keep his head up and eyes on the road when it counts the most. At the rear, under that wing and wide oval taillights, is a nice chrome bumper with a couple exhaust tip peeking out from under it. Open the door and you will find a super sharp looking interior with attention paid to keeping the look original and authentic. The door panel is a simple yet stylish in black with chrome piping creating a Y pattern in the center with slashes of chrome accenting the top and bottom and a GTO emblem too. The bucket seats echo the Y pattern in the pleated center section with smooth side bolsters. A three-spoke steering wheel has a Pontiac arrowhead in the center. Behind it is a stock dashboard with a speedometer in the center, engine gauges off to the left, a clock to the right, and that hood mounted tach directly in the driver's line of sight. Wood grain on the lower dash looks great and carries through to the center console which holds the shifter for the automatic transmission. Ventilation controls include those for air conditioning to keep you cool on hot summer days and the only upgrade in this interior is an FM/CD and iPod compatible stereo for your listening pleasure. Pop the hood and you will find the legendary Pontiac 400 cubic inch motor that has been restored back to factory specs nestled down in a nicely detailed out engine bay. The twin snorkel black air cleaner has a decal announcing it as a 400 4-barrel engine. Of-course the focus on originality means a stock carb, intake and exhaust, and it also means that it has all been painted in the correct Pontiac blue engine paint. Everything has been serviced or replaced like the master cylinder and booster, alternator, power steering pump and air conditioning compressor which has also been updated to R134. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to a 10-bolt, 3:55 posi rear, located by trailing arms and coil springs. Up front, control arms and coil springs with a beefy sway bar and new suspension components throughout help this car handle well. The rubber meets the road through 225/70R14 BFGoodrich T/A radials all around mounted on Rally II wheels. An awesome car celebrating its 50th birthday. A nice reward for someone celebrating their 50th maybe? Or just a nice, clean, classic car because you have been wanting one. Whatever the reason, come on down and check out this sweet GTO.
