For Sale- 1965 Pontiac GTO, 389 Tri-Power, 4 Speed Transmission, Limited Slip rear end.

The Good-

True GTO with PHS docs.

Possible the 389 engine is original.

Engine runs good, no smoke.

Original Pontiac Tri-Power (works well).

4 Speed Manual w/console.

Red on red.

Hurst rims with near new red line tires.

Power steering.

Rebuilt Booster and Master Cylinder.

Good floors/trunk.

Rebuilt rear end w/3:55 gears.

New Heater Core.

Have Rally wheels with near new red line tires (needs a couple beauty rings).

Not seeing any real evidence of collision damage.

Drives out nice and is fun to drive.

19,700 on odometer, might have been reset at the time of restoration??

The Bad-

Was born 389 4bbl, automatic.

Original rear gears were 3:23.

Heard some lifter noise when the engine was cold yesterday, went away as it warmed up.

Needs a couple beauty rings for the rally rims.

Older restoration (approx 15 years), normal signs of age and usage (chips, scratches, etc).

Dash pad has a crack in it.

True mileage unknown.

Shifter is not original Pontiac, real tight shift pattern.

Summary-

Overall a nice driver quality GTO that can win awards at smaller car shows. Would need fresh paint to really compete at the large shows in my opinion. Car really needs nothing to enjoy and drive right now.

Looking at the GTO market, this is not a $60,000- $80,000 car, but is much better than a $20,000 car. Looks like most GTO's in this general condition are asking in the 30-35-40-45K range depending on the car. Asking price is $34500.00...............................
Clear title in hand. I'm sure I have missed some of the good as well as some of the bad, so please ask questions, additional pictures are available upon request.
