Description:
1971 Pontiac GTO Judge
This is a 1971 GTO Judge, The 71 Judge is quite rare as they only produced 357 before pulling the plug on producing them early in the year. The circumstances surrounding this one make it Ultra rare. It is a Documented WT-7 option car, ( Black wing and stripes ) of which only 15 where produced in 71, Such a rare no cost dealer option that the build sheet to this car served as an example to decipher the wt-7 option and call out colors amongst some very interested Purists in the Pontiac community. It has the extraordinarily rare front and rear seat belt shoulder harness', Very rare 15 inch wheel option with the unique 14inch center section ( KR ), this option came with goodyear polyglas G-60-15 tires that fill out the wheel wells much better. It also has the correct spare to match, It has Tinted Glass without A/C, It has a rear window defogger. AM/FM Stereo, It has its original build sheet from above the gas tank in 100% legible condition, The car has full PHS documentation from 2007, It has a copy of the original window sticker, It is on the GTO Judge registry, I purchased this car around 2007 after it was stored for around 30 years. It has an un prove, but undisputed 19080 aprox: actual miles on it. I have all NYS inspection records showing back to 2007 when it had 16800 miles on it. The story, History of the car, and condition of the car overall would likely serve as proof enough to any knowledgable old car guy, (or gal) as it has me. The car has its Born with drive train, 455 HO, PQ TH400 trans, 3:55 posi rear. Car has No rust, Car Had No rust. To be clear; no pitting, damaged, or rotted metal. No Metal on the car has been grafte, or replaced. All original factory pinch welds. The car still has what I believe is the original hood tach, clear and operable. Original radiator, alternator, starter, Gas tank, Brake and fuel lines, T3 headlamps. Everything on the car works, Radio, key buzzer, Even the clock. It starts easily and high idles and drops down just as it should, Sounds great, Runs strong and powerful. Always use high zinc Race oil in Motor. That is basic overall view of the car as it is now. The car was featured in Hemings Muscle car Magazine in the Nov. 2014 #135 issue, There you can find some history on the car and nice photos of it along the way, The story of the original owner and how the car was turned into a mostly unused weekend drag race car called the Romin Chariot. Then sold to someone who just stored it for years, and on to my ownership where I learned much about the car as I returned it to its current condition. It was also used in a hemmings muscle car calendar. There is much to be said about this car and its history, Above are probably what most would agree are important positive facts about this car. My being an honest car guy who has seen misrepresentation at its finest, I would like to say above all else that this is not a " get all you can for as little as possible sale" It is not a " well they didn't ask sale", Not a "how much can I get at someone else's expense" sale. I don't understand how some people sell a car in a few sentence, I am a do unto others kind of guy. That being said. I will now list some things that would be important to the purist and should be disclosed to a potential buyer. This is a car that wins first place and sometimes best in show at rather large local car shows, However it is not the car with every proper factory marking, finish, and hardware component, It would be very appreciated I'm sure for what it is, but would fall short at a concourse judged show. It would however be an excellent candidate for easy refinement. Not many Muscle cars left with integrity. Some notable facts,,, The rear seat is original, but the front seats have been covered with Legendary replacements. The Interior door panels and head liner are OEM GM but have been died from black to white. The carpet has been replaced with aftermarket. The rear package tray has been replaced with aftermarket. The rear window has been replaced with new do to scratches and is not date coded, all other glass is original an very nice. The motor has licensed reproduction intake manifold, The carberatur on this car should be a 270 ram air carb. It has currently a 268 which is designated for a 1971 non ram air carb. It is however the same CFM, and rare single venturi and has been fully restored. The air cleaner is a proper factory GM dual snorkel part. The inner hood pan for the ram air is aftermarket. The exhaust manifolds are reproduction ram air made of ductile steel rather than cast so they can have a slightly larger opening to allow for a full 2 1/2 inch Flowmaster exhaust with cross over. Has stainless steel reproduction exhaust tips. The motor has its original and proper round port heads. The car has a minor rear seal leak that stops as soon as the motor warms up. I have the original front license plate bracket off the car. It has reproduction rocker moldings. The rear bumper has its original chrome with some whitening seen in the sun. Also the chrome around the front grills are a painted chrome. very hard to tell. I can try to send additional photos if asked. Thats about it, So before I write a book. I am selling the car because it is no longer conducive to my life, I hardly ever drive it even though its a blast and rarely to never do car shows anymore. I drove the car about 120 miles a year since I've owned it. Last year a whopping 44 miles 8 of which where to get it inspected. My start price is close to what is considered an average sale price for this car, This car is far from the average in my opinion and I think most would agree. If you are looking for a historically significant Pc of American Muscle car history with integrity you might consider this one. If there is any genuine interest in the car it can be seen and inspected in my clean heated garage. Please contact me for contact info where I would be happy to spend as much time as necessary discussing details of the car. Or elaborating on any contents of this add. I would prefer an up close and personal sale so to make sure the buyer knows exactly what they are buying with no chance for remorse. I will NOT give out any personal info such as Social for transport out of country. So you should have some one to act on your behalf who knows the ropes if you are out of US. I will accept payment through bank transfer and or a combination of cash payment in person at pickup. I will accept a deposit only through paypal of 500 dollars within 48 hours of auction ending. I can help deliver the car to a transport vehicle near my house at a convenient location with notice and weather permitting. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, This car has probably not seen rain since 1980, I have described here the car to the best of my knowledge, with honesty, ( another rare circumstance ) However as is the case with any old machine. Once the vehicle leaves the property it has No Warranties of any kind and is sold in As Is condition. Please contact me for any questions or to see it. Also as long as there are no bids on the car I maintain the right to cancel this auction at any time. And Please know and take comfort that I do not take part in any of the all to often endless redundant sales with unexplained bidding. This is an honest sale with no skeletons in the closet.
