1962 Pontiac Tempest Le Mans
PLEASE Read entire ad. Its all in there. Thx1962 Pontiac LeMans, convertible, 38,000 Miles, factory 4-speed, 4-bbl white with red interior. 3 owners from new! No Rust, no accidents, no problems! This is a very respectable and original car.
Are you looking to be a distinguished contributor/member of the 1960's muscle car era? This is your chance to get in on the car that started it all. This is the predecessor of the Pontiac GTO. The 1961-1963 Tempest LeMans were designed by John DeLorean personally as the first American muscle cars. High output 4cyl, fitted with a 4-BBL carburetor, mated to a 4-speed transaxle connected to a posi traction rear; lastly 4 wheel independent suspension! This gave the Tempest almost 200HP and a 50/50 weight distribution in a midsize car. The 4 speed really wakes up this car in the 1/4 mile. This car has a couple of interesting options: a factory (period correct) Dixon tachometer, AM push button radio, 4 speed transmission, posi traction independent rear-end and a 4-BBL carb, lighting group, cigarette lighter, full wheel covers, Rear Color Matched Fender skirts and Le Mans appearance package. At only 38,000 miles, (believed to be correct) this car has only seen three owners. I have a letter stating the names of the previous owners. I even have the factory booklets and warranty cards with the original dealer and owner's information printed in them. This car is all original and stunning, dressed in white, with red interior. The interior is almost flawless, no rips or tares. The door panels are in excellent shape as is the carpet and the white POWER convertible top. The rear vinyl window is clear and crack free like new. Has beautiful red boot cover for the top also like new. The glass all around is perfect. The top is pretty new, and looks great in and out as are all the gaskets. The white paint looks to be mostly original, shines bright, looks great but does show some little flaws, some crazing and a couple of chips from age. Mostly noticeable when you get up very close (12 inches) to it. But for almost 60 years old it looks great! The chrome and trim is very good as is the front grill and Pot metal. There is no rust on the car, the trunk is good as are the floors. You can tell this car was not left out in the weather or abused. According to the previous owner, this car spent 80% of its life is a storage facility and was only sold when the owners died. In summary, this car has it all and is a pleasure to own and drive. Guaranteed to be the only one of its kind at any show. Google 62 Tempest and see for yourself and see how different this cars is and why it is so special! Lastly, if you are looking for a car that will require little to no work to enjoy, and one that you won't have to track down parts for, this is it. I've done my best to honestly describe this Pontiac as best as I can. I strongly recommend if you are seriously interested that you inspect in person or get a professional to inspect prior to your purchase. Please call with any questions, 908 759 5651. Asking $14,500 or best offer.
One last thought; Just look at what other sellers are asking for clean 62 sedans and convertibles with no "fun" options like a 4 speed, and ask yourself "when have I ever seen one like this and will I ever see another that I can purchase now and enjoy.
