Here it is!! A rare classic 1968 Pontiac Catalina 2 door post sedan up for auction. They only built 5034 of these in '68 (2000 less than the convertibles), and the reserve price is a fraction of the amount you usually see these cars selling for even when they need work.
The 400 2bbl engine sounds healthy and 400 turbo trans shifts nicely, and runs & drives well.
Car has aftermarket a/c (not working).
The brakes are drums front & rear and new shoes have been installed. Also has some other new brake components as well including some brake lines.
The tires are new.
The battery has been replaced within the past year.
New air shocks have been installed on the rear.
The floor boards are solid with some sections having been replaced already and all coated with Por-15.
The frame is solid front to rear.
This car will need some body work including replacement of the rear quarter panels, and then repainted.
The trunk floor has surface rust, but no holes in the middle. The side sections have holes around the under body mounts and will need replaced. You may already know replacement sheet metal is available for the trunk floor and comes in three separate pieces.
It will need new carpet and seat upholstery, as well as some other interior work too.
Electrical seems to be okay, but the gas gauge does not work.
What you'll be getting is a very restorable classic car, and you can DRIVE IT HOME!
All for less than most cars that you'd have to put on a flat bed to get home!!
