Description:

1974 Pontiac Le Mans Sports Coupe

This listing is for a 1974 Pontiac Le Mans.
In 1979 this car was purchased from the original owner and it has stayed in the same family ever since. A few years ago our friend inherited the Pontiac after his father passed away and he intended to completelyrestore it at a local restoration shop. Unfortunately, after they disassembled the interior, bumpers, trim, etc., the shop went out of business and he had it placed into storage, as he had moved out of state by then. After storing it for the last 3 years, he is ready to cut his losses and move on.
We have pulled it out of storage, hung the bumpers, header panel, core support, and put the tail lights back in. This car needs a full restoration.
The car starts, idles fine, drives around the block, but that us as far as we have tried to go. The car needs work to run and drive as it should, known repairs it will need include: exhaust manifold gasket/donut gasket, full tune up, and radiator hoses. At some point the lower quarter panels have been repaired improperly (bondo and tin) and need to be redone with the rest of the restoration. The core support was replaced (due to rust) with one from a 74 Grand Am (we do have the original).
This is a 2 door sports coupe with a Pontiac 350 2 barrel engine and has a 3-speed manual trans and dual exhaust. The exact mileage is unknown, as it reads 2k on the odometer and has rolled over. It will need work on the interior; all of the interior plastic panels have sun damage and the headliner is torn. It has the frontand rear seats, floor and frame are solid, wheels and tires are new, glass is in good shape with the exception of a small chip on the driver side edge. It comes with everything shown in the pictures. It has a clean Iowa title along with the original owners manual. It is a complete car ready for the next owner to restore.
This car is located in Iowa City, Iowa. It will need to be trailered or towed. $500 deposit required within 24 hours of auction ending, only cash accepted for the remaining balance and that is due at the time of title transfer/vehicle pickup (within 7 days of auction ending it needs to be picked up unless other arrangements are made).
*Pontiac only produced 833 Le Mans in 1974 that featured manual transmissions.
