1960 PONTIAC VENTURA BUBBLE TOP 2 DOOR HARDTOP
1960 Pontiac Catalina VENTURA
I would grade this in at least FAIR CONDITIONMANUAL STEERING/POWER BRAKES. I drove this last summer and I stored it for the winter, but have no space left for the upcoming year to store it, so it's up for sale. Please Watch to Video that accompanies this posting. This car drives well. Engine and drive-train have no issues. It does need the E-Brake Cables replaced, as they're cut off at the rear end. Tires are good with brand new skins ion the front. Shocks are new. Some of the side mouldings are taped on with double back scotch. I've affixed the fender mouldings with clips, which should also be done to the others. The Battery has to be disconnected when in storage, because someone bypassed the switch so the accessory power is still on when the switch isn't. Not that hard of fix, but I haven't taken the time to do it. Fuel Gauge Doesn't Work, Interior has minor stains but still looks fantastic
Carpets & Headliner are excellent but rear upper headliner moulding is missing. Transmission Indicator needs replaced to reflect correct position of later tranmission points
Some filler on normal lower areas of outer body faces with some blistering coming through
Some rusted out areas of lower floor gussets/supports, frame looks good. Some areas of floor-pan have been repaired/sealed with fiberglass/resin. Steering Wheel shows normal crack-age, so it's covered with a wrap
Paint is so-so, with normal age and wear defects. Some clear-coat separation. I put a small boo-boo in the paint on the LH 1/4 just behind the wheel-well when I parked it for the winter and some of the images were taken before that occurred. It's just a touch-up thing. RH Door and fender have been repainted and are a shade off. Bumpers are bleached out but in decent shape. Mouldings are decent with normal small nicks/dings. The Brakes are pretty much all new, It's been upgraded to a dual master cylinder and I just added a PB Booster to it last fall. The Brake Hoses, Shoes, Cylinders have all been replaced. It has a new Idler Arm and the Steering Gear was recently adjusted. It steers nicely down the highway. 326 CI Pontiac Engine
The transmission has an aftermarket adapter and appears to be a GM 700R4. Most of the mechanical seals (Rear end, axles, etc) have been replaced. Front Wheel Bearing Kits. HEI Ignition. New Fuel Tank. Transmission Cooler. Ball Joint Spacers. NO APPARENT LEAKAGE PROBLEMS. Stays clean underneath when parked
The former owner had installed new ball joints and various suspension pieces. Wipers, Lights, Blinkers, etc work fine. Windows roll up and down nicely. I get a lot of thumbs up on this car
There are no doubt other flaws that I failed to mention, but I'm being as forthright as possible and no doubt there are many things in the positive that I've also failed to mention
I WOULD TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO DRIVE YOU ABOUT ANYWHERE.
PLEASE VIEW HE FOLLOWING VIDEO CLIP FOR A MORE COMPREHENSIVE VIEW AND DESCRIPTION OF THIS CAR
