Description:
1970 Pontiac GTO GTO
1970 Pontiac GTOPalladium Silver (Code 14)Black Strato-Bucket Interior (Code 258)Black Cordova Top (Code 2)All #'s matching! This car was a very presentable 2 owner (77,000 mile) driver quality car that was completely restored between 2009-2011. It has accumulated 27,000 very easy miles since then. (Odometer was zeroed at restoration)
I purchased the car from the estate of the second owner. He bought the car in 1973 in high school and parked it in the late 1980's. In 2009, he spent over $40,000 restoring this car to what it is today. The car was not frame off restored, because honestly I don't believe it needed it. The sheetmetal is fantastic, the floors, trunk, quarters, ect. are all rock solid. The car was originally a mind boggling solid Indiana car, then spent the next 40 years in KY, and Ibrought it up to IL.
The car was refinished in it's original Palladium Silver, using DuPont Base/Clear and is arrow straight, and the paint is buffed so well you can shave in the reflection!
All the chrome, pot metal, trim, ect. was all refinished, replaced with NOS or high quality reproduction. The interior is all new NOS or Legendary brand. It's Perfect!
The YS code 400 was rebuilt and runs great. The Intake/carb are day 2, but the cardynoed 402HP 476TQ. The car starts right up, does not smoke, rattle, leak, run hot, ect. I drove this car in rush hour downtown traffic being 95 degrees outside with the windows up and the A/C on...listening to the really nice Retro-Sound stereo...that fits right in the uncut dash and is really killer.
The trans is the correct TH-400 and was rebuilt and has a mild shift kit, that has no problem chirping 2nd and 3rd gear...but only when you want it too...not jerky, just a little firm.
The original posi rear end holds 3.55Auburn gears now...and works just fine. Brakes are factory power disc/drum and stop great.
Suspension was completely rebuilt with all MOOG parts, and is tight as car be. Car drives straight as a arrow, alignment is perfect.
I don't know anything negative to say about thecar, truly. The interior is a 10, exterior a strong 9...mechanically a 10.
This GTO is so well sorted out and no stone was left unturned.
I bought this Goat from the Estate of the long time owner of the car who sadly never got the opportunity to drive it after it was completed. I overpaid for the car, but the attention to detail was superb, and it was the best driving old car I've ever driven.

I'll never get out of this car what I have in it, but if you could value a car on how it drove I could! Prices seem to be all over the place with so many clones and tributes out there...I'm not too sure what a nice #2 restored 70 Coupe is worth these days...I guess you can always make me an offer!
My cell # is 630 225-8879 and you can call me at any reasonable hour.
I'm not a "Dealer", "Flipper", ect. I just love my Goats!
I'm advertising the car locally as well and this auction can and will be ended in the event of a sale outside of eBay.
No Trades, Payment due within 3 business days of auction end. If you putyour eyes on this car you'd seewhat I mean about attention to detail!
