Hello!Up for auction is my 1972 Pontiac LeMans. This a NO RESERVE auction so highest bidder will be taking this beautiful classic home. I bought the LeMans from my neighbor who retired 6 months ago and moved to Florida. He was the 2nd owner of the car and has owned it since 1978. Car was always garaged most of it's life and very well taken car of. I have a handful of receipts that I found in the glove box. (See pictures)
The LeMans has only 84,887 original miles. This is a matching numbers car. The LeMans is original and unmolested. Original 350/2 barrel runs perfectly with no weird noises. The exhaust was replaced with a dual exhaust system from the downpipes back. Car has a beautiful deep tone to it. Not loud at all. The transmission runs through all the gears smoothly the way it should. The LeMans also has factory A/C that still works! Brakes where done last June and a new battery was also installed. The LeMans also has power steering. Four wheel drums all around. I also noticed that the radiator overflow tank is brand new.
The interior is in it's original state and in great condition. It has factory bucket seats and the highly desirable floor shifter console. The headliner is perfect with no sagging and the roof mounted seatbelts are all there and in great shape. Carpet and matching floor mats and near mint! The only cool aftermarket items installed in the interior are a 3 gauge cluster that monitors volts/engine temp and oil pressure. The radio was also changed out for a digital retro looking radio that sounds great! He told me the radio alone cost him around $300 with installation. Factory gauges still work fine and so do the odometer and speedometer. The LeMans also has tilt steering! I am also replacing the rear deck/package tray with a brand new one from PUI this weekend. The original one was sun faded and dried out. (see picture)
The exterior of the LeMans looks great. The car was never in any accidents and all body panels are original with no body filler. Car was never driven in the rain or snow and always covered in my neighbors garage. The car was never smoked in either. There is some surface rust starting to show on the rear driver's side quarter panel. The chrome tips could use a good polishing also. As you can see, the factory fender skirts are there and can be removed if you prefer. I also have the original front chrome bumper guards. The undercarriage is solid as the day it rolled off the showroom floor. The vinyl roof is in good shape with the exception of two small holes (see pictures). These can easily be repaired by an upholstery shop or there are repair kits that you can purchase. I applied some Permatex vinyl repair on them to prevent them from spreading and moisture getting underneath.
The wheels where refinished about 2 years ago and new tires where installed. They are BF Goodrich radial T/A's. The size of the tires is 205/70R14's. The trim rings and center caps are original and in great condition. The trunk is clean with minor surface rust in some areas. I think it's because my neighbor had a trunk mat in there and trapped moister developed a little surface rust. Nothing major.
I have the original manual for the car and 4 keys. I also have the manual for the radio. I tried to describe the LeMans to the best of my knowledge. The car is being sold at no reserve, AS IS and WHERE IS. I will assist in transportation if buyer is from out of state or overseas. Overseas bidders are welcome.
