1970 Pontiac GTO

1970 GTO, 400 4bbl, YS code motor is a correct for this car being out of a 70 GTO but is not numbers matching. Has a M20 Muncie 4 speed trans but was originally a TH400. Factory AC, has been converted to R134 but is not working, compressor feels good. Bought this car thinking it was a numbers matching factory 4 speed, AC car but after getting the PHS documents found out it was originally a TH400 automatic. Conversion is well done with all factory parts, fooled me. further research revealed the engine is a correct 70 GTO YS code motor but the serial number does not match this car. I honestly think the guy I bought it from believed it was numbers matching and was not attempting to misrepresent the car. All this aside it is a very solid and complete car. Engine runs strong and quiet, has Edlebrock carb and aftermarket air cleaner, drives well, shifts well, clutch feels good, disc front brakes, Safety Trac posi rear with 3:23 gears and rear sway bar is original. Car has had minor accident damage to the right front and has had the bumper, fender and front valance replaced. Hood was not damaged, I have the original bumper and the damage was not bad. Wheel, tire and control arms were also replaced on the right front. Interior is original and good shape but the carpet is faded and the front seats have a couple split seams, dash looks great but does have some minor cracking, aftermarket tach under dash and aftermarket radio. Rear package tray is distorted and speakers cut in. Headliner has a split seam and a small hole above drivers visor. Chrome and trim very good, missing right side lower molding. Has been painted once in the original Atoll Blue color, there is significant bubbling present under the original vinyl top. I had the car looked over by a perspective restorer and where as I expected to need a roof skin, he felt it was repairable and preferred to do that. Floors and frame are excellent, trunk is decent but does have a couple small wholes over drivers frame rail. Drivers door has a quarter sized whole in the bottom near the front, passenger door is good under but has a small hole front lower corner, some rust repair evident in the left rear quarter above the bumper and there are bubbles and blisters here and there. All in all, very solid start. I bought the car last fall with the intent to get the body done over the winter and finish the rest this spring but the body shop (big surprise) never had time. I would not allow the car to be outside so I asked them to let me know when they were ready for it, well here it is April and no call. I stored the car safely in my barn/garage at my lake house in Maine, thankfully as it would have most likely been left outside if I left it with the restorer. Any how, I am out of time, I thought I would drive it this summer and sell it at the end of the summer to pay for college, but since I would never be able to complete it in time I am forced to sell it the way it is.
I have many more pictures and invite inspections and questions. The car is 2 hours ways Monday- Thurs this week but will make any arrangements necessary for serious buyers. Feel free to email or call/text Mark 6-one-7, five-3-8, seven9seven0.
I am only looking to recover the money I paid and the reserve is very reasonable but please don't simply ask "what is the reserve" it is not fair to other bidders, but as the auction closes I will tell the current high bidder the reserve. That said, feel free to make an offer, I am willing to end the auction early for the right offer and it is advertised locally.
Please ask questions and inspect the car if possible, I have 20 years on eBay and have maintained a 100% positive feedback rating. I would hate to ruin that hard earned reputation due to lack of due diligence by the buyer.
