1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible Ram Air III Carousel red

It is believed less than 12 of these GTO's were produced in 1969. Only 6 or 7 have actually been accounted for...They were Special Ordered Carousel red paint convertibles, a color reserved for Iconic GTO Judge. They were all Ram Air convertibles and they were all highly optioned cars. This one is the most optioned one remainig, with 34 sought after options. Combine that with Carousel red with parchment interior and white top, it doesn't get much better. The term "rare car" is liberally overused these days, no one will dispute the proper use this time.

Restoration started. Body was taken off the frame, frame blasted and painted with new bushing and lines installed. All the metal work has been done and the quality of the metal is excellent. Not pictured, but included is an original Ram Air hood in great condition. It also comes with the new reproduction hood pictured. I have all new reproduction Ram Air pans and cables. Original mint GTO trunk lid, doors valance and inner front fenders. Basically all the metal is very very nice! Convertible top frame and hydraulics are here but it will need a new top canvas. At this point, the body needs final prep and would be ready for paint.

The car comes with a complete new interior upholstery kit. Seat padding is only needed. The dash will need to be restored but I also have a second dash pad that might be usable as is. Dash gauges, hood tachometer have already been professionally restored as has the cornering lamps. The seats are bare and complete and the rare passenger recliner seat is present. Headrests are parchment and in good shape. Tilt wood steering wheel is in nice shape and 8-track player is also accounted for. Expensive and hard to find power antenna also in hand. All Soft-ray glass is original and out of car. I have the one year only, vacuum power door lock system and all the power window components.

Numbers matching engine has been rebuilt, TH400 transmission (not numbers matching) will need to be rebuilt. Also has the correct 3.55 Safe-T-Track. I have the #9270 carburetor (SR) and original distributor. Four 14X6 (not JA) Rally II wheels come with car. I also have new Ram Air III exhaust manifolds. The rest of the exhaust system will still need to be purchased. I do not have forward lamp harness, engine harness and tail light harness, all the rest I have. The hard work has been done and most of the very hard to find parts are present.
