1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 convertible Pontiac Historic Service verified and documented. 1967 Firebird 400 convertible with Factory Air Conditioning and Power Windows. Power convertible top, power steering, power front disc rear drum brakes, deluxe black bucket seat interior with center console, rally II wheels,remote drivers side mirror, hood tachometer, tinted glass and full size matching spare wheel/tire with jack and wrench. This car was a Nevada rust free car all its life until it was stored in a garage some time around 1989 in northern Florida. The previous owner disassembled the car and had it repainted and never finished it. I purchased the car from his estate and proceeded to finish it for my self. The born with and verified 400 YT engine was pre tested, cleane, sealedand detailed prior to re installation. The original turbo 400 was rebuilt and detailed also. A brand new factory style exhaustsystem and mounts were installed and sounds great . The steering system was gone through and the quick ratio power steering box was rebuilt. The complete brake system was gone through with new master cylinder, calipers,roters and hoses. A new convertible top and door panels were also installed . The A/C system got a new evaporator, drier,condenser and hoses and does work but only on number 3 fan speed. When we put a vacuum on the system I noticed a slight leak so most likely an o ring was missed. The A/C does work but has a slow leak. All the power windows work well as does the power convertible top. New correct door lock knobs were just installed (after the pictures were taken) as someone pointed out they looked funny. The factory rear traction bar is also present which isvery important and usually missing from these cars. The body is laser straight and the paint is very nice with absolutely no signs of damage or rust repair. The car starts like a new car, idles smooth and runs down the road perfectly. The transmission shifts smoothly and when you step hard on the gas the Pontiac 400 4 barrel lights the tires up even while your rolling. The engine has a lot of power and torque and feels like new. The under carriage is clean, detailed and rust/patch free . In my opinion this is a show car but everyone has theirown opinions. True original Firebird 400 convertibles are very hard to find and I consider this to be an investment quality car that can be driven anywhere and enjoyed anytime. No doubt these cars are increasing in value and popularity as of lately. NADA Old Cars values this car at a low retail of $28700, Average retail of $51380 and a high retail of $92120 which really surprised me.
