You are bidding on a 1975 Pontiac Trans Am. This car was born a real Trans Am, with the 400 4bbl motor, automatic transmission featuring power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, and power windows. The car was born silver in color with the red interior. The car retains the original, numbers matching engine( pictures can be provided).The previous owner of the car purchased it in 1978 and drove it until 1991. He parked it in 1991 in a garage and there it sat, until 2 years ago when he moved it outside. We recently purchased it from him and began to work on making it run. We added a new fuel pump, battery, fresh oil, rebuilt the Holley 650 CFM spreadbore carb. The car will sometimes start poorly and not run very well. We added a new master cylinder since the pictures were taken and now the brakes fucntion. The true working condition of the transmission is unknown. The car was originally an AC car but none of the bracketry or compressor remain. The dash still has the AC controls and vents.
The trunk pan, floor pan, front fenders, and drivers side quarter panel are rust free! This is rare on a car of this age but due to New Mexicos dry climate, where it lived its whole life, it was saved from severe rust damage. The only major cancer that we have found is in that passenger side lower quarter, as pictured. Other wise, the body is very straight with the exception of the passenger side front fender where it was dented at one point and then pulled out, as pictured. The interior needs complete restoration but is all there. The drivers seat folds all the way down when you lean against the back while sitting in it. The interior is mostly original with the exception of an aftermarket stereo and speakers installed in the console. The car is missing 2 of the 4 fender flares, and the others are in poor condition. Unfortunately the nose is cracked, one grill has a large hole and the other has broken fin, but included with the car is a extra, nice passenger grill. The drivers side fender support bar is also included but not pictured. The car retains the original air cleaner and shaker assembly. The shaker does have a crack on the lower portion. The car has chrome 5 spoke rocket wheels and chrome slapper bars.
This a project car and does need work to be road worthy but it is a great starting point. A very straight, rust free and complete car ready to be fixed up. More pictures can be provided upon request, I also can email a short video of the car running.
