This highly documented 1947 Pontiac Streamliner Deluxe 8 Woody Station Wagon, serial #P8MB71232, has an Ionia body, manufactured by the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Co. of Ionia, Michigan. The engine is a 294 cu. in., flathead straight eight that develops 103 brake horsepower. The transmission is a three-speed manual with column shift. The body color is SILVER WING GRAY with striping in FRENCH WHITE & TRIANON BLUE. This vehicle was purchased new from Hartman Pontiac in Lancaster, PA. The vehicle was only driven on the weekends and sometimes camped in if weather permitted. The second owner owned this vehicle for 63 years. The vehicle was always garage kept. The restoration, by Ralph Snyder Auto Restorations in Mt. Joy, PA. was finished in the summer of 2001. All the wood is original, as is the top. At the AACA Eastern Fall Meet in 2003, This ''Wooden Indian'' was awarded its Senior First Prize, with a First Preservation coming at the 2004 Fall Meet.
