BARN FIND 1955 pontiac star chief 2 door hardtop, we got this car from Georgia where it has been in a barn since 1986 after the original owner got too old to drive and the family put it in storage, "took 3 hours too clear the barn door of trees just too open it", this is the story as we were told, the original owner is from hilton head South Carolina and when she was too old to continue her family moved her to adel Georgia when the car was put in storage never to be seen again until this month, we went and got the car after a friend of ours got it out of the barn, we brought the car to our shop and removed the fuel system, cleaned and repaired the fuel tank, removed and rebuilt the original starter, replaced all the wheel cylinders and rebuilt the master cylinder, new tires were installed and a new battery, now the car is driving again!!! this car runs and drives all the lights work even the original indian head on the hood lights up, when i say every light all the dash lights appear to be working properly as the tag and reverse lights,this car is amazing, while we were putting the tires on we noticed that even the original chalk markings are on the rims and for the first time ever for me the frame of the car still has the original stencil markings on the frame (i've never seen that in it's original condition) i can't describe how nice and original this car is you must see it for yourself, the car has it's original drivetrain and has factory leather interior, the dash is in as new condition, everything is working except the radio, this is a car the you can clean and enjoy or the perfect candidate in an original unrestored class, to get the car running we installed an electric fuel pump but we have found a full pump at banter and you can get one there and put the car back 100% correct, we have numerous pictures on our website of the car please feel free to look at it charliesclassiccars.com we also would love to discuss the car with you so please feel free to call charlie at 251-751-7530 we have taken the liberty of decoding the car for everyone to see the information is as follows.style no. 55-2837SD = star chief 2 door hard topbody no.
