1973 Pontiac Ventura Custom 5.7L 350 Hatchback Sprint gorgeous new paint
1973 Pontiac Other Sprint Custom Hatchback
I'm forced to sell my beloved Ventura. This car has been owned by my family since my grandfather took delivery on it in 1972.
Please see theFULL ad at: https://sway.com/IQT-W6zoKXS99AQQMany many more pics, edia, and details!!!
When the car came into my possession in 2004 it ran reliably and very strong thanks to a professional rebuild just prior to my taking ownership however it had almost no salvageable interior, nd while the paint fading was surprisingly very even, here was very little of the original factory gold paint left. A restoration of some sort was in order but I was unsure whether I wanted just a nice usable driver, full back-to-new restoration, r something in between... pro-street maybe?
Since the car is All Original and numbers matching, t seemed wrong to take it in the drag/race car direction, o I set my sights on building a nice looking driver that could be taken in another build direction without hesitation. With that in mind, are has been taken to ensure any modernization for convenience is easily reversible*.
I believe the pictures speak for themselves. This car turns heads wherever it goes.
"Beautiful! What is that? ...a Nova?" - (most common compliment)
These cars are exceptionally rare. There were only 26,335 hatchback Venturas produced for 1973. This is a total for ALL Ventura hatches, ncluding: baseline, 6, ingle exhaust V8s, ual exhaust V8s, Custom" w/o "Sprint", nd "Sprint" w/o "Custom" models IN ADDITION to this top tier configuration. While I cannot find production numbers more granular than hatch vs coupe vs sedan, t's obvious that a fully optioned V8 dual exhaust Sprint hatchback would be the most rare of an already small production run. In fact, ust compare with the Ventura's twin, he Chevy Nova hatchback. For 1973 Chevrolet made 91,012 Nova hatches**.
Since becoming the owner of a Ventura in 2004, 've been watchful at car shows, n ebay, nd online auto auction sites; there are very few to be found, ven fewer that haven't spent time as a drag platform or someone's Frankenstein project.
* the OEM radio tuner had a mono speaker in the dash. For stereo sound, nd speakers of any worthwhile size, oles needed to be cut in the rear interior trunk panels.
