1972 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J Coupe

Offered for sale is this incredible survivor - a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J* Coupe in beautiful Quezal Gold with Inca Gold vinyl interior. This remarkable "barn find" was parked in a garage about 20 years ago, nd was recently brought back to life by the nephew of the original owner. After much debate, e believe this car to have been repainted - probably three decades ago - to a very high quality. Unfortunately, ime has taken its toll on the finish, nd though presentable, t would need a repaint to achieve the finish it deserves. The most incredible feature of this car is the interior, hich is all original and never restored - to look inside, t could be a 3-4 year old car, nd feels like a time machine. The seats, ash, auges, ontrols, arpet, eadliner, nd so forth are in amazing original condition, ith everything functioning much the way it came from the factory. The original Delco AM radio is till in place, nd everything works perfectly except for the clock. There is no obvious corrosion on any of the sheet metal, nd the underneath is nice and solid all around. The factory vinyl top is in very good shape overall, ith just a bit of degradation at the right rear corner. The chrome and bright work is very good front to back, nd the original 14" wheel covers are still in place. The engine is a 400ci (6.6 liter) Pontiac V8 in excellent running condition, olted up to a bulletproof TH350 3-speed automatic. It has the original Rochester Qjet 4 bbl., nd the original owner's nephew just spent upwards of $3000 putting this car in to proper drivable condition - the fuel system has been completely flushed (including the tank), ll fuel hoses replaced, ll fluids flushed and changed, he brakes overhauled, he AC overhauled (with new compressor), nd much more. It now starts, uns and drives as well as any vintage car out there, nd the AC is ice cold. All and all, his Grand Prix is an incredible survivor and a real time machine - with a fresh paint job, t will become show quality, r can be very respectably driven the way it is now. It's a beautiful mixture of "barn find" and "little old lady who drove it to the grocery store." In the photos you can see the clean Florida title, ssued in 1987 with 43K (actual miles). Not many years later, he car went in to storage and remained there until very recently. * Interesting note - the "J" in Model J stands for John Z. Delorean, ho ran Pontiac from 1965 to 1969, nd was influential in the design and development of this very successful Grand Prix model. Phone us at (239) 263-8500 for sales information.
