Up for sale a stunning, nicely detailed 1968 Plymouth Sport Satellite Road Runner Tribute. Clean California title in actual owners name currently registered and insured. When this car was purchased, it was the intention of the owner to swap the current small block 318 to a big block 383. A period correct 383 block was sourced for the build along with a pair of 440 "452" cylinder heads and will be included with the sale of this vehicle.

Body/Undercarriage:Body is straight, completely rust free with nice lines and great panel alignment. The paint job isBrilliant Blue metallic with matte black hood. Painted approximately 3 months ago. Paint is a base with clear coat cut and polished to a high shine. New parts installed at time of paint include:

  • Glasstek functional fiberglass bolt on "HEMI" hood scoop
  • Glasstek front & rear fiberglass bumpers
  • OER Windshield
  • OER tail panel
  • OER chrome door mirrors
  • OER exterior markers
  • OER exterior chrome door handles
  • OER door/trunk locks
  • OER antenna
  • OER Road Runner emblems
  • GE & Silvania head lamps
  • Phoenix Graphics decal kit
  • Wheels are restored steel OE 14x7" Magnum 500's with brand new 235/60/14 Cooper Cobra Radial T/A's.
Remaining exterior trim is original to the car and in very nice shape. The Glasstek fiberglass are painted silver metallic. Chrome replacement bumpers are unavailable at this time, so fiberglass versions were used until the chrome replacements become available.Doors open and close nicely, outer door locks work and all the windows roll up and down nicely. Exterior lighting, headlights (high/low beam), turn signals, markers, brake lights, back up lamps function properly. Original trunk pan is rust free and was treated with POR15 at time of paint. Original trunk mat with spare jack assembly is included (spare wheel/tire is a replacement). The undercarriage is clean no rust and was treated with a durable Zolatone undercoating at time of paint. **The ROADRUNNER black plates are novelty plates for cosmetic/photography purposes only. Actual California license plates will be included with the vehicle.**

Drivetrain:The engine bay is clean with a period correct 318 engine block. It runs well with no apparent issues and has decent power (mileage on engine is unknown). The under-hood wiring was completely gone through to make sure all lighting, accessories and sensors function properly. Some of the new parts installed include:

  • Speedmaster 600CFM Performer carburetor
  • Speedmaster 4V aluminum intake manifold
  • Speedmaster Pro Billet HEI distributor, coil, spark plug wires and spark plug package
  • Speedmaster mini starter
  • Upgraded to 1970 and up charging system with Duralast alternator/belts, voltage regulator & circuit breaker
  • Direct Connection dress up kit
  • OER power steering system
  • Everstart battery with cables
  • OER oil/temp sensors
  • OER Chrysler Beep Beep horn and relay
  • Recent oil change and coolant flush.
The exhaust sounds great withbrand new2-1/4" aluminized piping and dual 40 Series Flowmaster mufflers dumped at the rear axle. Transmission is the original A904 three speed automatic, replaced neutral safety switch and recent fluid flush ATF+4 with new filter and seal. Shifts fine with no issues.

Interior:The interior was redone at the time of paint including:

  • OER nylon loop style carpet
  • OER door panels & arm rests
  • OER seat upholstery kit
  • OERdash pad upper and lower
  • OER package tray, floor mats
  • OER speedometer cable
  • Retrobelt front and rear chrome seat belt kit
  • Original equipment dash trim
  • Original equipment cluster and switches all having been replaced
  • Period correct OE Mopar steering wheel
Under dash wiring was completely gone through to make sure all interior switches work properly. All the gauges work as do the dome lamp, dash illumination and the "Beep Beep" horn. Speedometer was replaced with an OE unit, and the needle is bouncy. Interior door locks function properly. Factory heating system was removed at some point and there is no air conditioning.

Brakes/Suspension:

Brakes are drum front and rear with front brakes being upgraded to the heavy-duty Road Runner 11x3" brake drum assembly. New brake shoes were installed up front, the rear shoes are in good shape and were left as is. Suspension is in good shape with new shock absorbers up front and leaf springs with new shock absorbers in the rear. Remaining suspension is original to the car. It steers and handles nicely for a 56 year old Plymouth B body.
