Description:

1978 Plymouth Volare

This is a 1978 Plymouth Super Coupe only 493 were built. This Super Coupe is a numbers matching 360 4-bbl automatic with 112,000 original miles. I am the 3rdowner and the 2 previous were father and son whom I purchased the car from. This Super Coupe has 1 repaint and no rust. Original interior with a slight tear on the driver’s seat as pictures show. Carpet has been replaced but the rest of the interior is all original. Rare factory A/C car. This car has all its original wheel flares and spoilers as most cars found today do not have the original front spoiler. This Super Coupe still has the original 15 x 8 factory wheels and trim rings. I have since installed Cooper Cobra tires 255 x 60 15 inch in front and 275 x 60 15 inch in rear. The Good Year tires in the pictures do not come with the car. Original rear gears were swapped out for a set of 3:55 Sure Grip. I have the original ring and pinion. The electric trunk release and door locks still work. Previous owner had dual exhaust installed on the car. The motor has never been apart as far as I’ve been told or can see. All glass is original except front windshield which was replaced. Original factory am/fm cassette radio still in the car and in excellent working condition. Over all this is an extremely good example of a 1978 Plymouth Super Coupe. If you know these cars you know they were prone to rust on the fenders and inner fenders and frame rails. So much so that Chrysler had a recall on the fenders/inner fenders for rust issues. This car is rust free and still wears its original fenders and inner fenders. Now for the few things that need addressed. Missing original air cleaner assembly. Lean Burn system has been removed and replaced with Chrysler electronic ignition. Antenna needs replaced. Glove box lock and light need replaced. Electric fuel pump and regulator and Accel Super Coil were added for better performance. This SuperCoupe has some light scratches and a ding or two as the pictures will show. Any questions just ask and I will do my best to answer them. Thank you!!! P.S. I pulled the auction the first time after I found out the A/C wasn't blowing really cold as it had previously. It will need a shot of refrigerant to blow really cold again.
