1951 Plymouth Concord 3 Window Coupe powered by 66' Mustang Inline 6 with C4 Automatic Transmission
You are looking at very cool and slightly hot rodded 51' Plymouth 3 window coupe that was built by retired hot rod builder who owned the original car for many years. Couple years ago, he proceeded to use his low mileage 66' Mustang Inline 6 and C4 automatic transmission to swap the original engine and transmission in the Plymouth. He made additional changes listed below to make this classic truly a daily capable or just weekend pleasurable driver car. He sold the car to his friend who used it for a while, but due to his age and inability to continue driving it put it for sale, and I was fortunate enough to purchase it.
Features/Highlights:
- There are total of 1180 miles since the build (this mileage is and will increase as I drive the Plymouth at least 2 x week)- Rust free and solid body and undercarriage- No leaks, burning fluids, smoking or overheating issues- Low mileage 66' Mustang Inline 6 and C4 Automatic Transmission- 8" Rear End from Cougar (not sure the year)- Rack and Pinion steering with Disk Brakes on the Front (drums at the back). Stops great!- B&M Shifter- Newer Shocks on all corners- Original Oil Pressure and Gas Gauge (Yes is works and is accurate), Kingneed digital USB Speedometer, Aftermarket Oil, Water Temp and Volt Gauges. Also added working Tachometer- All lights high/low, indicator lights, brake lights and even interior lighting! work- New interior including headliner, seat, door and kick panels. The carpet and mats are used but for a daily driver in good shape- Heater works!- All fluids are fresh (transmission, oil and coolant)- American Racing Wheels with 215/70/R15 tires on front and 225/70/R15 tires on back. Tires are in great shape
To my knowledge, the only things that do not work (were never connected) are wipers, horn and parking brake.
Very, very cool Plymouth Coupe that is truly a pleasure to drive, and car that you can drive anytime and anywhere. It was built for this purpose and with this intention. However, please have in mind that it is still a 70 yrs old vehicle!
As a driver, it has chips, scratches, few dents and faded paint that adds character, but again, NO rust or rot! The windshield has few repaired chips and a slight crack on the passenger side in the middle.
