1969 Plymouth GTX, High Performance 440ci V8 Engine, Torqueflite 3-Speed Auto

Price: US $48,900.00 Item location: Stanwood, Michigan, United States
Description:

1969 Plymouth GTX Hardtop Coupe

Offered for sale is a true 1969 Plymouth GTX with a Period Correct High Performance 440ci V8 Engine, and a 727 Torqueflite Three (3) Speed Automatic Transmission.
The VIN is RS23L9A228274, and the mileage is 108,100 miles, which is believed to be actual miles. The 440 engine block number is 253643010 and is dated November 15, 1968, which is within the range of period correct for a 1969 GTX.
The super clean 440ci V8 engine is not stock, but rather has been rebuilt and built-up to put out over 500 horse power with its performance CAM, solid lifters, Edelbrock intake, high performance Holley double pumper carburetor, Hooker headers, and high flow cross-X exhaust ending just the past the mufflers. This beast of a MOPAR is built to run very fast down the quarter mile at the track, with aftermarket gauges, a B&M Pro Ratchet racing shifter, upgraded rear-end, and larger than stock tires.
While the 440 engine is not stock, with its correct Dark Metallic Green paint (F8), Fresh Air Hood with Air Grabber (N96), Bucket Seats (C55), and Longitudinal Red Stripe (V6R), the rest of the car is correct to the fender tag.
This Mopar shows well, and is sure to be a crowd favorite at any local car show. While an older restoration, the paint still shows and shines nicely, the body lines are straight, and the interior is nice.
The body shows no signs of rust, and has a few minor scratches and imperfections in the paint. There is a dent in the rear trunk lid, and the chrome bumpers and tail-light bezels have light pitting. The interior rear sail panels need to be replaced, and a new set is included with the sale of the car. Also included with the sale is a new antenna and rear trunk rubber liner. The high performance CAM causes brake stiffness at low RPM idle, and quick braking at higher RPMs. A vacuum canister was added which has helped to level out the brake responsiveness, but still a bit stiff at low RPM idle.
