1971 Plymouth GTX

Vehicle Details

Dream car that I’ve got to let go of! Bought to replace a 1971 Satellite, and I’ve been slowly getting it ready for cruising/fun but I just don’t have the time to work on it. Latest plan was to get it running to get it painted, then the muffler shop to fix an exhaust leak. Plans change however, and now it’s here.

Car is a 1971 Plymouth GTX. Factory 440 auto/air conditioner car. Original color was Glacial Blue Metallic, was repainted Curious Yellow before I got the car. Previous owner replaced the original engine with a fairly hot 440 (sounds like a cam, but I couldn’t tell you any specs) and installed a reverse manual valve body into the transmission. Old school race car stuff. Rear and is an 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gears. Had the heads redone a couple years back and replaced the original radiator with an aluminum champion unit with a shroud. Interior is mostly together minus the dash pad is cracked, but I’ve got a hard plastic cover ready to go on included in the sale, as well as all my spares for this car that I got from the previous owner in the trunk.

Electrically car is mostly there, rear taillights need bulbs but otherwise should be fine. There’s extra bezels in the trunk if you need.

Car starts and runs. Needs a proper tune up before any real driving. I just needed it to get to the paint shop. Was planning on installing the Edelbrock efi kit, but again, plans change.

Car is available for inspections if you’d like. No warranty is implied or extended. It’s a project, but it’s so close to being a really mean street machine!
