This 1940 Plymouth business coupe is part of our personal collection of classics. It was owned by a local gentleman since the early 80's (may have been earlier but that's what people around town seem to remember) he ended up passing away when his daughterand son in law, who owns a business here in town, ended up with it. It sat in his garage for a long while with the intention of restoring it one day. We ended up buying it as he just wasn't going to get to restoring it and knows we like to leave the classics in our collection on the more original side of things and use around the farm and back roads etc. We bought it and had our guy do a tune up and new gas. We put a battery in and it fired right up. We did the brakes so that they work, put a new clutch in, and added upgraded shocks. we drive this car around the farm and it always fires up and drives good for the short drives we use it on. It did not overheat when we used it. It runs pretty good but I would recommend maybe cleaning the carb some as it seems to run really strong when warmed up, cold you have to flutter the gas pedal to keep it running etc. the gauges appear to be working, the gas gauge did not. The trans shifts all 3 gears on the column like it should. We elected to leave the body and interior original. The body looks really solid and has great patina. The interior seat is good and supports well and the dash and floors look good, the headliner could be replaced. usable as is but it hangs down in the back some. The tires look good and serviceable but are older. The whitewalls set it off nice. The underside looks good. The trunk opens and shuts good and it looks solid inside.
