Description:

1966 Plymouth Satellite Satellite

This car was originally a 361 automatic. Built in Los Angeles, CA in 1965. It spent the first 30 years in California before being brought to Michigan in 1995. In 1995-96 the drive train was completely swapped out. A fresh build 440, 10½:1compression, 6 pack motor (forged cank, rods and pistons) was installed with a single 4 barrel 4150 HP Holley carburetor and a Chrysler electronic ignition. A modified Chrysler TorqueFlite trans was installed with a 3500 stall TCI converter. The original differential was replaced with an 8.75 inch Barracuda unit housing a 4.30 sure grip in a Q89 center section with stock axles.

The engine has the Mopar Performance hydraulic roller 509 purple camshaft. The cylinder heads are the 1967 HP cast iron units. The push rods, rockers, shafts, valves and springs are stock units. It has a newer Mopar stock style water pump and a newer Carter HP mechanical fuel pump. There is a functioning, but not connected, Holley electric fuel pump mounted on the rear frame rail. It has the big Hooker Super Competition headers, stainless steel exhaust and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. It has a custom aluminum driveshaft and a driveshaft safety loop. This car is not cut up and does not have a roll cage. It is absolutely rust free, as clean underneath as it is on top. It has an Autometer tach and Autometer temp, trans temp and oil pressure gauges. Engine cooling is handled by the polished aluminum Be Cool radiator and overflow can. The original radiator is available. I originally installed an electric fan but later switched it out for the original clutch fan for better cooling. I have and will include the hardware to reinstall the electric fan. The wiring is still in place.

It has a complete Legendary Auto Interior with the original style scroll vinyl covers and new arm rest bases. The rear package tray is uncut and in good condition. All interior lights work properly. The dash lights and turn signals work properly including the indicators on the top of the fenders. The dash, door panels, console, headliner and carpet are in excellent condition as are the new Legendary Satellite logo vinyl floor mats. All the interior bright work is complete and in very good to excellent condition. The AM radio works as does all factory gauges. The heater box and ductwork have been removed but the heater controls are all there and work. The wipers do not work but all of the hardware is present and installed. The horn is also inop. All the windows work properly including the wing vents. All the glass is in good condition with no chips or cracks.

The exterior of this car is complete and in very good condition. The paint is original in color, about 20 years old and still very presentable. There are a few nicks and chips present but nothing major. All the exterior bright work is present and in good to very good condition. New tires were installed on the 7 inch Chrysler steel wheels in 2019. Included are the dog dish style hubcaps. Actual miles unknown due to to incorrect speedometer gear.

In the 20 years I've owned this car, it has never been driven in wet weather or snow. It has never been wet, period. I never wash it with a water hose because it has never been dirty. It may get wiped down with a wet cloth on occasion but otherwise it just gets waxed and dusted. It has been stored covered during my ownership and gets driven about 300 miles per year.
