1971 Plymouth Road Runner Tribute
1971 Plymouth Road Runner Tribute
You'd be hard-pressed to find a Road Runner of any year that doesn't have a following! While this car is actually a 1971 Satellite that has been done up like a Road Runner, it is a convincing tribute car and has a lot of nice goodies. Being a 1971, this car was built before changing vehicle regulations and increasing gas prices led to consumer's demanding more efficient vehicles. This is the last of the "original" muscle cars! This 1971 Road... Runner clone has had some modifications added since it left the factory, but it continues to capture the spirit of the original Road Runners thanks to a killer paint job, rumbling Mopar small block V8, and plenty of options that make this car a blast to drive. When approaching this Plymouth, the first thing you'll notice is the slick black paint job. As any car enthusiast may know, black paint is easy to put on but hard to make look smooth. One glance down the side of this car proves that any bodywork performed has been done to a high degree of quality, as the lack of imperfections is apparent. If there were any imperfections, they would have a hard time hiding from black paint! Silver Road Runner stripes are the perfect touch on the black, accented by a silver secondary color painted all around the bottom of the car. This Plymouth has a super unique look! The wheels are American Racing Outlaw wheels; a classic choice for a classic car! The interior is clean and simple, done up in original form with black vinyl and appropriate Road Runner logos/emblems where necessary. Both the front and rear seats are in excellent condition, and appear to have been redone in newer materials. The center console is in great shape, and is a sought-after item. Everything about this interior is 100% classic 1970s Mopar! As a whole, the interior is clean and complete with lots of original parts, with new items where it counts. All interior components including the gauges function properly! Under the hood, you'll find a Chrysler 360 small block with headers, an aluminum radiator, and a Holley 650 Carburetor. The 360 small block is a great choice for a car like this, and when built properly can put down some serious power! This 360 has been bored .060 over and received lots of other upgrades including Keith Black pistons, a Weiand intake, and a performance roller cam. Hooked up to a three-speed TCI A727 automatic transmission, this bad boy puts the power to the ground in a serious way. Other drivetrain upgrades include a transmission cooler, reverse manual valve body and a 3,000RPM B&M stall converter. Power brakes have been added as well as front disc brakes. Someone has spent a serious amount of money in all the right places! This is a nice, high-quality classic '70s cruiser that would make a fantastic weekend car! It is a tidy little tribute car that utilizes lots of original parts to maintain that classic feel. Contact Shelton Classics & Performance for details at 877-496-5680 or visit br/- DOES IT WORK?
