While I was attending the auction at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine this past August 18th, 2018, I bid on a blue 1970 Plymouth Super Bird and was the high bidder for $187,000 with the buyers premium. You can Google the auction and see the Super Bird I won on August 18, 2018. It's a beauty.
Just after I won the blue 1970 Super Bird with white bucket seat interior a man approached me and sat down next to me and stated he has 2 Super Birds thathe has owned for the last 40 years. One was B5 blue with white bucket seats like the one I just purchased at Owls Head Museum and the other Super Bird was an Alpine White with black bucket seats with console automatic.
My heart was still racing after just winning the auction at Owls Head and now it looked like I had the rare opportunity to purchase two more Super Birds. He wanted to sell both as a pair and he was willing to show them to me in five days. So I made an appointment to meet with him in five days to view both birds.
The day I met with him to see both birds I was so incredibly excited to see them and still could not believe that these cars existed and that I had the opportunity to purchase them.
When I pulled into his yard he opened both garage doors and there staring me in the face were the two birds with their eyes looking straight at me, headlights open. I took photos of both cars as they sat before I even walked into the garage.
Wow! What a great find to see the pair of them together!
There was so much clutter around both cars that had to be moved so I could get a closer look at them.
The Blue Super Bird had low original miles from new 1970 and the White Super Bird had low 42,497 original miles from new 1970.
Both cars were sold brand new in 1970 at Blouin Chrysler Plymouth Dodge in Augusta Maine.
The blocks in both Super Birds had Marvel Mystery oil in them to keep the cylinders lubricated when they were in storage.
After verifying all build dates, fender tags, and VIN numbers on both cars, I looked over all the paperwork documentation from new with original owners names and dealership info and I purchased both cars that day.
Please note in the photos below the blue Super Bird tucked away in a barn for decades right next to the white Super Bird before being moved to the garage where I viewed them. If you look close you can just see the headlight sticking out of the rubble.i
We called a local ramp truck and they picked up both cars, one at a time at the two car garage and brought them to my vacation home 35 miles away in Maine all in the same day. I wanted them home safe.
You can see in the pictures below the white Bird being picked up by the ramp truck.
You can see in the pictures below the Blue Bird being picked up by the ramp truck.
WOW!! Amazing survivorstory!!!
Here you can see these rare Birds out in the sunshine just after being delivered to myMainehome still dirty.
From there, the very next day I had them delivered in an enclosed trailer to my home in Massachusetts, just 3 hours away where you see them in front of my red barn delivered without a drop of rain.
I put them into my barn at my home enclosed in dry storage until I could finally start the cleaning process.
Check out all that barn dirt on the blue birds front seat in the picture below.
The pictures below are of the white Bird before she was cleaned and polished. Note in the pictures the velvet seat covers on the front bucket seats. They are now taken off and are stored in the trunk. Also check out the old pioneer cassette stereos that were put in both cars. I left the stereos in both cars as they are classics in themselves.
I washed both Birds, cleaned the interiors, and vacuumed the carpets, cleaned all the glass and polished the bright work. This took me many, many days. The white bird looks great next to my 70 Red 4 speed Hemi Cuda convertible.... two great mopars.
Make sure you view the over 100 pictures I have posted of this Birdafter she was cleaned and polished further below.
This Alpine white 1970 Plymouth Super Bird with 42497 original miles has the 440/375 HP Super Commando 4 barrel motor with console automatic transmission.
Not often do you come across a low mileage 1970 white Super Bird with this survivor history, with original owners Title/registration, broadcast sheet and documentation as you will see in the photographs.
The motor, transmission, and rear end are day one numbers matching factory for its 1969 original build for the 1970 production. The motor has never been out of the car since new 1970.
You can see all the motor block dates and VIN number and fender tag, odometer mileage and more in the photos.
The jack and spare tire, and the original air cleaner are not with this Super Bird. The Mopar 1970 air cleaner on this white Super Bird now is very desirable and looks great and goes with the car.
The interior is original. Vinyl roof is very high grade original condition. The padded dash is as nice as you will ever find with no cracks or blemishes. The trunk is spotless untouched rust free as seen in the photos. This White Super Bird was under coated with thick Ziebart under coat at the dealership and the floors and trunk are solid rust free. The tag for the Ziebart under coating is still on the door and window on the car and it was done at the dealership in 1971 with the mileagetag still on the door.
When you scrape the under coat off the floors on the under side the metal still looks like new.
I took this Super bird to my Mopar mechanic and he cleaned the carburetor and flushed the fuel system. He put in all new spark plugs, new fluids in the rear end, changed the motor oil and filter and serviced the transmission with new fluid, filter and gasket. She fired up 1st turn and ran beautiful.
As stated earlier this car has 42,497 original miles and runs beautiful with no smoke and shifts like new.
This Alpine white Super Bird is a super investment with only 1920 super birds made in total production. If you are a Mopar Super Bird expert you will be able to look at the VIN#s stamped into the motor as well as the transmission along with all casting #s, build date and original fender tag. The fender tag looks like it has never been off the car. Has all its original glass windows #s matching in beautiful original condition. This Bird is the real deal!!!

It's truly incredible and too much for me to list.
One of the most collectible muscle cars with one of the most incredible automotive Aerodynamicdesigns in automotive history. These cars are coming up to the 50th anniversary and Chrysler-Plymouth will have shows dedicated to this rare winged warrior all over the USA.
They speculate they will be going way up in value at the 50th anniversary auctions. Don't miss this rare once in a life time opportunity as Iam offering this car at a very fair price with plenty of meat on the bone for new owner.
Please call me for full info on this incredible Bird. Please note you will also see my B5 Blue Super bird that I purchased at Owls head in the photos. This car is not for sale.

After I bought this great pair of birds I posted both on ebay last fall. The blue bird sold and was paid for. This white Super Bird had 96 bids and over 80,000 views. Sadly, the high bidder that won the auction at over $150,000 documented through ebay contacted me and told me that the bid was put in by accident and he did not have the funds to complete the purchase. I can show you this ebay message from him if need be.
Unfortunately, many people dream of owning cars like this and post bids they can not honor as they don't have the funds.
So please, call meat 978-939-5053
before making a Buy it Now or Best offer, so I can be reassured that you are a serious and honest buyer and that I have answered all your questions.
