1 of 234 Hemi-powered 4-speed Road Runners built to U.S. specs for the 1969 model year, nd 1 of only 61 believed to still exist, his fully documented coupe is, n its purest form, n unabashedly ruthless street fighter. Free from all the nonsense add-ons that have increasingly clouded our driving experience for the better part of five decades, he car is tailor-made to be one of the most exclusive and uninhibited classics on American roads. And, n addition to having a number's-matching 426 and correct row-it-yourself gearbox, his impressive Plymouth wears a professional restoration that's highlighted by correct Platinum Metallic pigment. If you're in the market for some solid, nvestment grade metal that'll continue to rise in value, ere's your next prospect!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Assembled at Chrysler's Lynch Road facility in May of 1969, his spectacular pentastar is the beneficiary of a professional restoration that appears to be holding up very well. During that thorough rebuild, he car's straight body, hich includes solid-closing doors on top of great panel alignment, as massaged into virtually flawless surfaces. Once those surfaces were completely clean and fully prepped, sinister coat of correct Platinum Metallic 2-stage was buffed to a glossy shine. And, ccording to the car's accompanying documentation, his clean Plymouth now rolls as a precise replication of its spring 1969 appearance with the exception of a basic Black interior.

ENGINE

Toss this coupe's light hood and you'll find an original, 26 cubic inch Hemi V8 that's authenticated by a famous 2468330 casting number and matching partial VIN. As Plymouth's top option for power hungry gearheads, hrysler's legendary elephant block utilizes cast iron heads, n oversquare bore, forged steel crank, orged steel rods, orged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic cam to twist stout 10.25 to 1 compression into a stated 425 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of torque. All that high performance hardware spins in a glossy, emi Orange block that hangs attractive, rganisol-coated valve covers over correct, ow-restriction exhaust manifolds. A perfect mixture of fuel and air is supplied by correct Carter carburetors and a correct aluminum intake. Compression is sparked by pliable wires that are snapped onto a correct points distributor. And resultant combustion is cooled by a big, 6-inch radiator that's fitted with Mopar-branded hoses via old school squeeze clamps. Visually, he car's Platinum engine compartment is clean and understated... Well, s understated as a classic Hemi can be. The big mill performs as well as it ever has. And naturally, etails like factory decals, MoPar-topped battery and a familiar Chrysler washer reservoir have been professionally restored or completely replicated.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Slide under this solid B-Body and you'll find a lucid chassis that's fully sorted and ready for the road. Bright silver paint highlights exceptionally clean floors. Behind the Hemi, correct A833 4-speed is tight and shifts like new. That stalwart gearbox sends power to a correct Dana 60 axle, hich spins a Sure Grip differential around 3.54 gears. Naturally, hat spirited driveline hangs in a completely restored suspension, hich is fitted with Gas-A-Just shocks and factory power steering. Stops come courtesy of big drum brakes. Exhaust is handled by large-diameter tubes, hich bend around an H-shaped crossover and Flowmaster dual-chamber mufflers. And all this MoPar goodness rolls on Platinum Metallic wheels, hich twist 205/75R15 Coker Classic redlines around Plymouth Division center caps.

INTERIOR

Swivel this Plymouth's level doors and you'll find a familiar Black interior that's functional, traightforward and very livable. A retrofitted front bucket and rear bench seating combination is wrapped in pliable vinyl covers that display hardly any signs of severe wear. Below those seats, tain-free carpet frames a correct Hurst shifter. At the sides of that carpet, lack door panels perfectly complement black door frames. In front of those panels, "road runner" branded dash seats standard telemetry above a cool Chrysler Solid State. In front of the driver, simple steering wheel spins a correct horn bar around a colorful Road Runner centerpiece. And behind the passengers, nicely finished trunk hides a correct jack and spare tire between a plaid mat and new decklid decal.
