Description:

1970 Plymouth GTX

1970 Plymouth GTX V Code race car. Clear title. Would make an awesome pro-street car. Pretty much rust free as it has been garaged most of its life. Tiny holes at accelerator pedal and passenger floor pan, but again this is minimal compared to typical mopar rust! Garage kept since it was a race car for the last 30 years. Was originally red, auto, the original red paint shows through the grey here and there. Driver door has been replaced. No fender tag. Dash frame isn't cut up, should all restore nicely. Can't tell if the transmission is the original or not, the trans brake is in the way of the VIN stamping. Car has a Dana 60, auto, and I pulled the blown race engine and replaced with a 440 that sounds awesome through the open headers, original engine is gone although I might have some period correct blocks and heads available for extra if you want them. This is a real V Code, it's been in the registry for a long time (thanks to those guys that keep all of those lists going) and again would make a perfect restomod prostreet mean 1970 GTX.
The dash VIN matches the radiator support which matches the trunk stamping. Real Deal V Code, been in a barn for about 12 years before I got it. The good is it has minimal rust. The bad is that it was cut up quite a bit which is why I would go the restomod route versus a concours restoration on it.
The car is obviously set up for the track but Mechanically one could get this car road worthy in a weekend but that's me. Has a brand new master cylinder, but I would replace the front disc calipers and rear cylinders and it needs a rear brake hose. It would also need a wiring harness, the front headlight brackets, headlights.
The electric fuel pump works, line locks work, electric fan works, electric water pump works, I bypassed the ignition and all the drag race stuff to a simple 12V dizzy but it all appeared to work, and I didn't hit the trans brake but the solenoids etc click. New battery.
Ideally, I think this car would be sick going a pro-street route with the new FiTech six-pack EFI...just saying.
Be sure to check out my other auctions, throwing a lot of really cool stuff up. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
