1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S

Up for sale is a one of a kind 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Gasser named "The Gasser Passer" powered by a built 1977 440 cubic inch Chrysler block bored .030 over. It has a 4 speed Chrysler 4 speed transmission and a "built" Chrysler 742 casting rear end with Moser axles, Richmond 4:10 gears and four wheel Willwood power disc brakes.

The car began constructionin early 2008 and was finished in 2009.This car is not a restoration but a complete recreation into a streetable pro street gasser withy almost too many modifications to list here. I will give you the highlights and I encourage the truly interested to call me at (208) 949-9566.

I have included a brief sampling of photos so you can appreciate the amount of work and effort that went into building this machine. I have over 150 photos taken during the build and fabrication. Every nut and bolt was removed and replaced during construction. Extensive modification of the body included removing and lightening up body panels, removing original front suspension and inner panels, tubbing the rear end, building sub frame to carry extra torque load of engine package, constructing built in frame loop for driveshaft, fabricating custom rear frame members to accommodate narrowed super stock rear end and suspension. The original gas tank was removed and swapped out for acompartmentalized fuel cell and separate battery /fuel pump system.

I have extensive documentation including detailed parts receipts of over $70,000.00 not including labor costs. This complete documentation package and all photos will be provided to new owner. The car has been trailered to a few shows and driven very sparingly. Most of the time it is stored in a heated climate controlled garage along with some of my other cars. It has won some form of award or recognition in every show entered.

A fewof the highlights:

THE CAR: Started life as a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S model with 273 cu.inch V-8 with auto trans. Solid body with two small rust areas in front floors. Car was completely stripped to last nut and bolt and media blasted before fabrication and assembly.

Engine & Trans:

1977 440 cubic inch RB block removed 1 1/2 ton truck chassis. Engine built with .030 overbore,Keith Black pistons,Lunati Voodoo cam, Crane roller rockers, Thorsen headers, MSD ignition, light weight flywheel, 11" competition clutch, completely remanufactured 833 4 speed trans removed from 1970 hemi car. Wieand aluminum intake with 850 double pumper. Balanced and line bored with larger valves and heavy duty springs. Never dynode so don't know exact horsepower but runs strong.

Chassis:

Speedway motorsstraight axlewith power Willwood brakes on all four wheels, power steering using custom components. Complete frame fabrication from front to rear to strengthen body to accommodate engine and suspension. Extensive lightening of unnecessary metal.

Three row aluminum radiator with thermostatically controlled electric fan. Thrush exhaust system with electric powered exhaust cutouts run from diverscontrols. (Header dumps)

Rear end is narrowed 1958 Chrysler casting #742 with MOSEr axles and Richmond 4:10 gears. The setup was run in a AA Fuel Dragster with 4:88's then we tore it apart and rebuilt it for this car using the 4:10's. After an initial run down the street by the shop we added the wheeley bars as the front end wanted to come up.

The rear of the car was extensively modified toadd a rear fuel cell and separate battery system.

BODY:

Paint color is 2008 Ford Fiesta Red which was a deeper red color new in that year and used on severalmodel vehicles. Interior is all new stock black bucket seats and new carpets, door panels, headliner, kick panelsd etc. The dash is custom with alolo new gauges and controls etc. A HURST Competition plus four speedshift mechanism does the shift duty. Custom wheels and Sportman tires complete the package. The car has very, very few miles driven on it since build.

In summary, this may be the nicest or certainly one of the nicest and most unique 66 Barracuda's in extistance. It is a huge crowd gathere, particularly when I crank it up with open headers. The price is certainly well below the replacement cost . You could not build it for anywhere close to this number. The components arefrom quality suppliers well known in the industry.

I encourage the truly interested to give me a call to discuss but Iif you are in to collecting more photos for your collection or want to tell me a story about your uncle who had a 'Cuda please spare us both the time. I, however, you desire a seriousdiscussionplease don't hesitate to contact me at (208) 949-9566. I have sold some vehicles from my collection and now am 71 years old and it is time to sell most of the others to downsize to a reasonable number .

If desired I can store the caruntil transportation can be arranged by the buyer. Or for reasonable fee I can deliver it in an enclosed car transport trailer. I take pride in my EBAY rating which is 100% and have described the vehicle very accurately. Thank you for your interest.
