Description:

1963 Plymouth Fury Original

The 413 Max Wedge engine uses different heads with 25% larger ports and bigger valves. A high lift cam and dual, inline 4-barrel carbs, made them the most powerful engines of the day. I was always amazed at the Chrysler "Golden Lion" engine which were manufactured from 1959 through 1964. I, therefore wanted to do my 63 Plymouth to include a sampling of that theme.
MY WORK ON THIS ENGINE AND CAR INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING; This was a no rust car and no new metal was ever added to it's restoration. It came from Colorado and I purchased it 12 years ago. It came previously with a RB engine but was not repairable. It had a Posi rear end and was otherwise complete. I had it repainted with a two stage paint of base coat and clear coat. The car was dent free with the exception of minor scratches and blemishes. All stainless and chrome were removed and the body stripped of all exterior parts. They were cleaned, straightened or chromed as necessary. The underside was cleaned and painted while leaving all of the undercoating in place. The engine had the following done. Engine was stripped down with the exception of the block. I had previously heard the engine run and was able to drive it around to see if the transmission was good also. I was impressed prior to purchasing this unit. We cleaned and painted the engine and added the following items. #1. Installed a set of 452 heads with larger valves, ports and hardened seats. #2. CS327 Sealed Power Cam. #3. Comp Cam HP Pushrods, Cloyes Timing Set, #4. Milodon 32000 Windage Tray, #5 Michigan STD Rod Bearings, #6. HP Fuel Pump, #7. New Oil Pan and Pump. #8. New Starter, Coil, Distributor, Alternator, Oil & Filter, belts and hoses. Many other things added which are important but to numerous to mention. A complete, new Flowmaster exhaust system with duals were just installed. Motor runs very strong and powerful. Again, I want to say that new tires were purchased but the installer was to turn the white walls in but made a mistake and put them on the outside. Maybe you want it that way? I had a small gas leak in the rear carb, therefore it will be fixed as I have it scheduled to have it fixed.
