It's time to sell my1970 PlymouthHemiCuda. These cars are some of the most desirable collector cars in the Muscle car world. Chrysler only built 652 examples of the"All New”designedforPlymouththe1970Barracuda!Only 369 were built with the heavy-duty 727 automatic transmission. This car is 1 of 2 knowntoexistwithBlack paintandRed interior with automatic trans making it very rare. Along with that, this is a original, surviving, un restored example. No body metal has been replaced on this car; no quarter panels, wheel tubs, trunk floor,trunkextensions, fenders or anything else body related has been replaced. This car has never been wrecked or rusted. Take a look a the pics of the underside it is dry.

The man responsible for this car being built is Wayne Kirby. He worked as the head mechanic at Webb Chrysler Plymouth in Kennewick, WA.Whenhe saw the new 1970 Barracuda he went right to the owner and sat down and ordered this car. He optedfor the 8 3/4 rear which was lighter than the Dana and easy gear changingfor street use or racing. He also went with black wheels as he knew he was going to install American Racingwheels.After receiving the car, he put headersonandswappedthe3.23gearsto 4.88. With around 4000 miles, theHemi losses number 3connecting rodsohe orderedafactory warranty replacement short block.Thereforthe car does not have the numbers matching block.

Later,onhebroke the auto transso it is not the original trans. Car does have a lot of the original paint still on it. After acquiring the car, I putcorrectdatedoriginalexhaust manifolds and NOS exhaust to the tips. The 4.88 gears wereremovedand replaced with3.91gears.Ihave theoriginal3.23 ring andpinion. Ireceived the carwith thewrong black wheels so Iputonoriginal15x7rallywheelsandGoodyearPolyglastires. This is a nice, drivable originalHemiCuda.Does notoverheat in thesummer.Somejust went across the Mecum auction block for $300,000+USDandno sale.
