'69 Plymouth Sport Satelite; Roadrunner; GTX convertible; factory-AC -PS -PB -AT
1969 Plymouth Satellite
’69 Plymouth Sport Satellite–––Roadrunner or GTX convertible with factory-AC -power steering -power brakes -automatic transmission -electric trunk release. It also has a factory clock and fender-mounted turn signal indicators.
It started from the factory as a Sport Satellite with a 383 engine, it now has a 440 cu.in. engine with a 727 transmission. It has the Chrysler electronic ignition and voltage regulator. The car is in decent condition with barely any rust. That which is rusty is shown in the photos. The odometer shows 73k miles but I and the former owner are not sure, it might be 173k.
It drives well and straight; it has tremendous power! The steering functions correctly and power-steers effortlessly. The transmission shifts perfectly with no upshift runaway and the fluid is bright red. The engine always starts right up and runs smoothly–––on all eight; it burns some oil but only a little.
The exterior and interior are quite nice but not show-quality. I checked the entire car–––there is no Bondo filler–––allsteel. The carpet is nearly new. The convertible top is like new and functions perfectly. The radial tires are nearly new. It has air shocks to adjust the rear level. There is a Sony radio/CD player.
The fuel tank and sending/fuel pick-up unit was replaced a few years ago. The Interstate battery is only circa 2 annums old. More-recent replacements include ball joints etc. ignition module; oil pressure sending unit; fuel tank cap; master brake cylinder; engine oil & filter–––with synthetic oil; spark plugs & wires; distributor cap & rotor. I also oiled the distributor. I had the car Virginia state inspected in Feb. ’17. The clock works but the time-setting stem is broken. The air conditioner has been converted to the new-type freon but there is a leak. The AC compressor is A-OK; engaged, it runs with no noise. The heater and defroster works. The four, interior courtesy, the glove compartment, and the trunk lights also function.
Although I replaced the master brake cylinder, the pedal action is somewhat low to the floor and abrupt but will stop the car safely. The transmission shifter is a slightly out of adjustment in relation to the “PRNDL” indicator. The fuel gauge reads low. Attempting correction, I replaced the dash gauge voltage regulator. I bypassed the fuel level sending unit which brought the gauge to the full mark. I suppose that the sending unit should be adjusted. Some of the dash lamps are burned out.
There are extra parts i.e. 2 steering wheels, dash & grill emblems included to make the car complete as a Sport Satellite, Road Runner or GTX–––see photos.
Included is everything in the photos: owner’s guide (not original); a boot (see photo) for the top while it’s in the open position; and a high-quality car cover.
The fuel tank is full and the car is ready to drive anywhere–––if you’d like to pick up here in McLean, Va. 22101
If you want the1969, Virginia license plates, it would be an additional $100. I recently purchased them unused; included is the original state of Virginia envelope and safety message, plate separation paper.
I see that Ebay permits only 24 Photos; If you'd like the rest, of which photos include the extra parts to make the car either a GTX or Roadrunner, write me with your email address and I'll send them to you. I also have an audio-video recording made near the exhaust openings–––you can hear the engine's non-misfiring exhaust.
