1969 B7 Blue Roadrunner Convertible Air Grabber 383 3 Day Auction.
1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible
Schroeder Motors is proud to offer this very nice 1969 Roadrunner Convertibe for sale.
This is not a number match 383,..but a healthy 383 with the Air Grabber Hood.
This RR runs & drives very well....we've road tested it almost 100 miles.
The Exterior Condition.
Very nice B7 Jamaica Blue paint showing clear reflections on all panels. The shine is deep, full color and glossy.
The convertible top is nice,..it's the correct top replacement.
The trim, decals and chrome are nice as well.
The RR's sheet metal is nice,...everything lines up well.
On the Driver Quality Scale,...it's an 8.5
The Restoration Quality would be rated - An older Professional Quality that has stood the test of time verywell overall.
Please note,...on the driversside rear outside lower quarteronly,....you'll see some bubbles under the paint. This is hard to see,...but there nonetheless. It's odd too,...because the floors & frame of this car are terrific. Also,..on the passengers side, same place,..there was some work done to that area too. Towards the back, the lower rocker section was cut out and replaced with a metal panel. You can see the cut line,...it looks good and seems to be holding up well. This repair has beenpainted and looks fine. Pictures for your inspection are included. These issues are common,...this car has been built for a long time,...I don't see them getting worse unless you plan on keeping & storing it outdoors,....it's far too nice for that of course.
The Interior Condition.
In step with the exterior. Nice, clean and well tailored. The interior painted panels are nice also.
The seats are supportive, comfortable and full color. No need for much improvement inside,...it's on par with the rest of the car. And again,..an older restoration that is holding up well.
The Engine & Transmssion.
Nice looking, nice running and reliable. Like I said,..we've road tested this RR,....we like it. It's a little cold natured,..but she sings once to operating temp.
The engine bay is nice and clean as well. All surfaces to all components are clean and nice looking with the hood opened for you local car show should that be your interest.
The 727 shifts nicely....nothing goofy about it mechanically. It's a good running car that stops & steers very well.
The Undercarriage Condition.
The floor panels are nice,...have the correct corrigation and are nicely painted in a smooth finish. All other metal components under there are nice,...a good set of bones to this car indeed.
The Final Thoughts.
I love this car for the right reason.....as a High Quality Driver. These Roadrunners (and Mopars in general) are going up again. A lot of "Too Nice To Drive" cars out there bringing big money. This car is perfect for Show & Go. It's very nice,...has an overall look that would make any Classic Muscle Car person proud to own and be seen in it. It's not a fresh restoration,...but one that still looks & drives waaay above average without being perfect.....
