1977 Peugeot 504 Sedan

I am proud to offer a wonderful 1977 504 Sedan For Sale:

If you are seriously interested, please ask any-and all questions prior to bidding. I'm happy to let you know, what I know!

This has spent the last several years sitting patently, and awaiting someone to take the time and dedication to bring it back to life. Thankfully, it crossed my path at the right time and place. Over the past 6 months, it has received a full "Sympathetic" Restoration. Every area of this "Little Green Gem" has been meticulously gone through, rebuilt, and made safe for many years to come.

Le voiture has less than 48,000 Original Miles, numerous service records, warranty cards, maintenance logs, owners manuals, service manuals, etc. This fine machine comes equipped with twin solex carburetors (manual choke with indicator light), ZF3HP22 Automatic Transmission, power front windows, AM/FM factory pushbutton radio, Rev Counter, Clock, Power steering, Power 4-wheel disc brakes, manuallyoperated sunroof, Cigarette Lighter, and along with the original Michellin XAS spare wheel and tire as well.

What does it need Dr. Mower?

As of now, it could use a new gas cap. The SAAB cap on it does not seal well. Also a battery hold down clamp, if interested. Soon the few rust areas should be delt with.

Along with its well documented history, this sedan's interior and overall drive quality is impeccable. The condition of the interior captures the true essence of the era. The seats are incredibly soft and luscious, to the point of ecstasy. One can see why, Peugeot won the prestigious European car of the year title for it. The ride quality combined with the decadent interior is of course phenomenal. The handling is light and crisp, which makes for an easy and fun drive. It is a car suitable for the young, old, and anyone in between. This prestigious sedan purrs like a kitten. andhas thesoul of a true Lion Interior: As seen in the pictures, the interior is near mint with no rips or tears. The drivers seat bottom does show a little bit of creasing. Also, some of the plastic chrome tape trim has come unattached from the arm rest. The door mirrors have some pitting in the chrome. In other words, it is soft and supple. Like Peugeot just put it together last week.

This hearty car has had a variety of extensive work done to it over the past 6 months.

Just a few examples include:

New BOSCH Starter, valve cover gasket, belts, fuel pump-filters, carburetor rebuild, plugs, wires, electronic ignition, ignition coil, upgraded 505 Valeo alternator, coolant /transmission flush, oil/filter, rear differential removal-resealing, properly greased wheel-bearings, front rotors, master cylinder, brake hoses, brake pads, rebuilt calipers, 4 Hankook Tires, rebuilt petrol gauge, wipers, etc.

Since this is a later model 504, it has the hollow-center wheels so they can be easily balanced at any tire shop near you. Previous models could not be easily balanced due to solid center wheels. Kinda a big deal now..

Exterior---------------

The car has a natural sheen to the paint work and chrome. Most of it sparkles in the sunlight, capturing the imagination of any onlookers. However, some parts of the paint work arenot great -containing surface rust, chips, and faded areas. Most seems to be contained to the boot lid and drivers side top fender bonnet area. It has it share of nicks, dents, and dings. The worse of which can be found on the drivers side front fender corner area.

Driving:

In the past week, I have put over 500 miles of rural combined with city highway driving usage onto the car. Overall, it has done very well. In fact, just Sunday it took me on a 200 mile roundtrip near Washington, DC doing 70 mph.

I do my up most to be sure any revived machine is safe, reliable, and fun. No matter where this goes,or what it does-- the driver should feel confident! It is always proceeded and followed by many waves and smiling faces.

Corrosion------------

Overall, the car is very solid. The floors, rockers, subframes, trunk area are all very solid with minor paint chipping, surface rust, etc. The only serious areas are on the bottom side of the drivers door. This could be easily addressed. Also, minor rust can be found under the hood, drivers side engine compartment (please see picture). Exhaust: This vehicle came equipped with model year 1977 emissions. These forced emission system ad ons were the primary reasons this vehicle became idle for so long. So everything emission wise has been unhooked, routed around etc-for reliability reasons. The catalytic converter is still in place. The exhaust system is in excellent condition.
