Owners Description

“The car has the famous Earle C Anthony flying lady hood ornament.”

“The car was shipped to Singapore in 1940 and served as an Officer Staff Car, during WWll along with 487 other Packard Cars that were put into military service between 1940 and 1943. In 1941 Japan began to capture more of Asia the car was moved from Singapore to the Philippines, but as Japan pushed the U.S. out of the Philippines, Japan captured much of the equipment including this car. As the U.S. recaptured the Philippines the car returned to U.S. possession. After WWll the car was shipped back to San Diego, CA and was eventually sold as surplus equipment. The car was taken to Washington State, where it was stored. Years later the car was sold to a Packard collector and restoration specialist in Anza, CA. and added to his personal collection. He retired in 2019 and I purchased the car and I agreed to restore it. Starting with the entire drivetrain, engine, clutch, transmission, econodrive (overdrive unit), were all professionally rebuilt, new radiator, the brake system with new master cylinder, 4 new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes and all new brake lines and hoses. The electrical system is converted to 12 volts, and completely rewired with the original generator converted to a 12 volt alternator to retain the original look. It has 5 new tires with 4 inch whitewalls to keep it looking original. The car now has 200+/- miles on the new engine and drivetrain. The car drives great and people are amazed at shows and parades. It has been awarded best in class and placed in the top 10 cars at 2 shows.”
