1956 Packard

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very unique, beautifully restored 1956 Packard Executive 4 door sedan. Packard was a luxury automotive brand started in 1899. The marque was popular throughout the first half of the 20th century until it's corporate partner Studebaker dropped the name "Packard" in 1958. These vehicles have since grown in collectability as a wonderful example of early American automotive excellence. This particular car was sold new in California, and spent many years there as well as in Utah. In the early 2000's a gentleman purchased the car and brought it to Missouri to restore. The body and paintwork was done to retain the car's original color combination which features Holland Blue and Dover White. The interior was refurbished using the stock seat material. The only modification that was added to the car is an outside door mirror. The car sports its original 352 CID V8 would outputs 275 HP. The transmission is a 2 speed automatic which utilizes a "Push Button" gear selector. This unique unit is mounted to the steering column and allows the driver to simply push the button of the gear they'd like to choose. Other features include: AM radio, hub caps, power steering, power brakes, cloth/vinyl interior, and white wall tires. This is a car from what some would argue as the best era in American automobile manufacturing. This car is toward the end of the Packard production line, and would be an excellent addition to any Packard collection.
