1988 TVR 420 SEAC “FULLY RESTORED TO THE, NE OF ONLY 7 LEFT HAND DRIVE IN EXISTENCE!!!

The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this stunning, ully restored 1988 TVR 420 SEAC. Only 37 of these cars were produced, nd only 7 with left hand drive. The 420 SEAC was a very limited production car. She featured a 300 hp Rover v8, erfect chassis balance, nd a race inspired suspension and underpinnings. THIS IS ONE OF THE LAST REMAINING LEFT HAND DRIVE TVR 420 SEAC IN EXISTENCE!! These cars were known for their great handling and amazing v-8 sound; this car does not disappoint on either front. After purchase by a prominent US collector in 2012 the car was sent back to Str8Six in the United Kingdom where it underwent a fully photo documented body-off, otisserie restoration. The idea was to create the best 420 SEAC brought back to factory specifications with no expense spared. The following work was completed by Str8Six in Oxfordshire: Str8Sixi a TVR marque specialist renowned for their high quality restoration work. The quality of this car cannot be overstated, he car remains in near concours condition

Chassis: Body off chassis restoration. The Chassis was stripped of all components, hot blasted and inspect for corrosion. The chassis was then modified with extra body mounts and alter fuel filter/pump mounting. Zinc prime and powder coat in Black. Reassemble all components using new nuts and bolts.

Suspension: All suspension components were stripped and shot blast. All bushings, all joints, ie rod ends and all other connecting parts were replaced. All wheel bearings were replaced and all suspension arms and fixings were either zinc plated or powder coat in black.

Brakes: The entire braking system was rebuilt, ncluding brake calipers, otors and brake pads. In addition, ll hard brake lines were replaced with new copper lines and soft lines with stainless steel braided line. The check servo and master cylinder were replaced and the system was topped off with DOT 4.

Drivetrain: The gearbox was removed and fully rebuilt using new bearings, eals and gaskets. Any worn parts were replaced, ncluding selector, ynchro rings and baulk rings. The driveshafts were rebuilt using new universal joints. All Mounts were replaced.

Engine: The 4.2 liter engine got a full rebuild. New camshafts, ifters, iming chain, iston rings, rankshaft bearings, ead gaskets, ore plugs, ll gaskets and seals. The cylinder heads were rebuilt, ncluding a multi angle valve job. The ignition was replaced, ncluding the coil, lug wires, istributor cap and rotor. New tubular exhaust headers were installed as was a stainless steel exhaust system.

Cooling System: Radiator recored, nd all new coolant hoses were installed all clamps and fasteners are stainless. New upgraded electric cooling fan were installed.

Bodywork: The no hit body was stripped down to the bare carbon kevlar composite shell. All panels were realigned including the door, onnet and bootlid. The body was block sanded and a fresh coat of her original color TVR panther black paint was applied. All moulding, rim and decals were replaced.

Interior: The dashboard was stripped and recover in grey leather. The leather seats and door panels were re-upholstered as well. The carpets were replaced in her correct original gray and the targa panel and and rear soft back roof and window were replaced with new black canvas. A new windshield was installed. The front foglights and front light panel were replaced/renewed.

Wiring: The entire wiring harness was replaced as were all connectors, elays and fuses.

Wheels and tires: Refurbish original wheels to factory spec and include new split rim bolts. The original style center caps were refinish to suit. New Toyo T1R tires were installed and have less than 1000 miles on them.

This exact car was featured in the June 1993 Road and Track Exotic Car magazine; TVR CLUB MAGAZINE AUGUST 1994 edition and Classic and Sports car magazine in January 1995. The quality of this restoration and the condition of this car cannot be overstated. The underside of the car looks as good as the top. The attention to detail during the restoration was comprehensive, nd is documented in photos. She is as close to showroom condition as any car we have seen. The car makes a wonderful noise, andles like on rails and all systems work as they should. Needing nothing but an enthusiastic new owner, his car is ready for show or go!!!
