1982 VW Vanagon Camper Van Conversion
1982 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon camper
Selling our beloved 1982 VW Vanagon. We have had several road trips and across the country in this lovely vehicle. From the Smokeys to round trips around the Great Lakes. She has served us well but now it is time to pass her on to someone else ready to care for her.A little about the van. She started out as a air cooled Van and I swapped it to a Volvo B230 Engine out of a 1991 Volvo 240. If you know anything about these engines you know they are bulletproof. Known for reliability and simplicity, this is the type of engine that you can rely on and know if anything happens it will be an easy fix. This engine was completely resealed, all gaskets were replaced and heads were shaved, cleaned, and inspected. Was converted to carburetor, so there is no computers controlling any part of the build. This is as simple as it gets. Very reliable and extremely easy to work on. We take all parts needed with us just in case anything else were to happen. (extra hoses, ignition coil, some wires, filters, fuel pump, alternator, water pump, belts etc...)Those parts come with the car. So you are set up.What has been done in the last few years-Led Headlights-Led Side Markers-Temp Gauge-3 in Lift-15 in wheels-Interior paint-Aftermarket seats-Interior Door Panels-Cedar ceiling with Led lights-4x USB ports-Camper bed and storage-Engine swap-Stainless steel coolant hosesDone in last year-Exterior Paint Bed Liner Thinned out by 30% for smoother texture (painted an original Volvo 240 color from 1985)-ARB roof rack-Hardwood floor (real wood not pergo)-Cabinets and storage (real wood)-GPS speedometer- Upgraded sideview mirrors from Land Rover-T3 adjustable upper control armsThis vehicle does not have heat or a/c. We use a camper buddy in winter and a rechargable fan for hotter summer nights. Honestly l never had any issues with Temp. We drive with the windows open and enjoy the summer breeze. Old school. We loved every minute of it. It will be sad to see her go. But its time for her next family.Thank you for your interest, please do not hesitate to ask any questions if needed.
