Running Condition

The 240Z has not ran for over a year due to life priorities. The previous owner from whom I purchased the car from whom had owned the car for more than 20 years, told me he had put a new clutch in the car and the clutches are in great shape. The gearbox, transmission, and motor ran & shifted as they should. The carburetors will need work and the linkage cables will also need to be addressed, but I have done a compression test and all the cylinders look good. For the most part, everything is there as far as mechanical goes. This Datsun is far from life ending but ready for its revival with someone to put in the TLC to get this icon back on the road.

Paint & Body

The body is completely rust free. The car has definitely been painted a few times & the current white paint job has scratches, rock chips, and minor dings but nothing major. The doors, trunk and rear latch align nicely and sturdy being a dependable daily driver.

Interior

The Datsun will need a complete interior kit. The original Datsun seats are there and appear decent. The dashboard has cracks, door panels, rear trunk board, & rear carpet mat are long gone. It is also missing some miscellaneous knobs and small pieces here and there.

Glass & Chrome

All of the glass pieces are in good shape without any cracks or chips. The chrome looks good and may be buffed & polished. I would replace the bumpers as they’re not perfect and they have some small nicks and scratches being 54 years old.

Trunk & Undercarriage

The undercarriage is in remarkable condition as its original. If you’re an aficionado— impressive is an understatement that there is no rust anywhere on the underside of this car or on the body. The trunk compartment looks great even under the spare tire location where puddling is most common.
